    Sigh…..

Why do I even bother to watch these guys any more? I find myself waaaaay more frustrated than entertained.

After the early season sucess at the Old Spice Classic, I once again allowed myself to have dreams of NCAA tourney success.

Now it's just the same old rollercoaster. Probably leading us to the dreaded NIT….

Take a break from fantasy. Find a D-II game to watch. Sort of like watching a WWF cage match. The state is full of them.

Steven Hill was probably around 75 or 80% yesterday, with that pulled hamstring. It was obvious he was slow to the ball, and Davis was like a shark in bloody water. As many points as Davis scored inside with 2nd and 3rd chances, this was probably the difference in the game. Arkansas still turns the ball over too much at crucial moments of the game. This must be corrected for this team to live up to it's potential. I still believe this team will come together. Our front line continues to get better every year. All of our guards are new. Irvin has a lot of talent, with more room for improvement. He is a JR., but is in his first year playing here. Patrick Beverly is unbelievably talented, and very composed for a Freshman. Don't be suprised if he recieves the most votes for the All-Freshmen Team. He will continue to improve also. Sonny Weems might be the only other guy to compete with Beverly, for Newcomer Of The Year Award. I'd like to see this guy put on about 8 or 10 pounds of muscle before next season. He will also contiue to get better along with Irvin and Beverly, in Stan Heath's system. Don't forget about Stefon Welsh. He has a chance to become a very good 3 point shooter, and is already the best free throw shooter on this team. By the looks of our recruiting, we will add some more talented depth there next year.

  5. From Ryan Malashock's column in the Morning News…

"It all comes down to pride and heart," Charles Thomas said. "We didn't play with any pride. We didn't play with any heart."

"In order for us to beat Glen Davis and LSU, we really needed a healthier Steven, and I think it made a real difference in the game," Heath said.

    So, our excuses Saturday were:

    1) No heart.

    2) No pride.

    3) Steven Hill not 100% healthy.

I wish I had Gonzohog's optimism as it relates to this team and coach. It doesn't appear to me that this team has the "pride and heart" to "come together" 24 games into the season. Maybe we should give it till 30 games and see if we can "come together" in Atlanta at the SEC tournament.

If they lose Wednesday at Starkville, I think the wheels could come off.
