So no one has something negative to say now huh???

THE HOGS ARE GOING TO WIN THE WHOLE THING BABY!!!!

I am proud for Stan Heath & the team. He is a class act and an excellent ambassador for the state of Arkansas. I hope he takes them all the way and wins the SEC tournament. College sports and the state of Arkansas need more people with the level of character of Coach Heath.

Hog fans are some of the best in the nation.

Beating South Carolina is hardly time to celebrate. If we had won when we met earlier we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm sorry to pee on the parade but, let's see if we can be Vandy twice in a week. You don't draw one of the byes in the SEC tournament without a basketball team. If I remember correctly, they beat Florida.

We have as much talent as any team in the SEC. We should be in it until the end if we play to our potential.

As for Stan's whining. Al Jefferson was never going to come here and Olu was no good when he was here. Every team loses players, that's why there are thirteen slots. We need to play the bench more.

There's not anything negative to say about that game. Almost perfect.

But, it still doesn't change the fact that it took Miss. St. talkin' about our momma and calling us female dogs and our coach's job to be on the line for this team to show a little heart and passion. Notice the coach is not the one who motivated them, but rather the situation he finds himself in.

I want Stan to be successful, but forgive me if this doesn't change my overall opinion about him as a coach. I'm happy for them and I want us to win. I hope that he's learning, but to this point his learning curve has not increased to the level I had imagined it could be in five years.

  6. BlindHog says:

You don't start your head coaching career in the SEC.

See, Rich? (and I'll bet you didn't even need to provide an opening…;^) I remember Nolan's first year at Arkansas (long before the internet). Some of the folks I worked with wanted to get rid of him. Imagine that. They were wrong then and I suspect those who want to get rid of Heath now could be as well. Only time will tell for sure. If this team stays together, it should be killer next year. I don't know about Heath's ability to motivate or scheme or whatever. Yes, we've had a disappointing season but a winning streak here at the end feels good. The team is playing together now and I'm very impressed with the play of some of the younger members (especially Washington). I can't wait to see us play Vandy later today! Go Hawgs!

    Go Hogs!

  9. OwassoHog says:

While Nolan did ok at Arkansas… he was much like Stan in that his teams under achieved at times too.

Why do I say this? With the talent that he had at times, I'm firmly believe that we should have had more than one championship. Doing so would have taken him from a good coach to a great coach. Unfortunately, he let his personal side impact his professional side and the professional side took a big hit.

  10. Dieinghog says:

I think Nolan was a great coach and will be again as soon as Arkansas is done paying him. He did what others don't have the guts to do. I think Stan took on a little more than he could chew but he getting it down just fine.

  11. Carolina Hog says:

This isn't Heath's first year, its his 5th so I'm not sure you can fault those who are ready to make a move. Also, I believe its a sad day when we get so jazzed about a 3 game win streak and a win in the first round of the SEC tournament. I do like the way were playing right now, but I thought the turning point was the stand the players made in the Miss St. game, not anything coming from Heath. I commend Heath for his class the last 5 years and particularly the last couple of weeks (Nolan would have had that Norman Bates look in his eye by now), but its still a little early for the Heath supporters to say "I told you so."

  12. Hawgfan100 says:

I'm not saying 'i told you so' nor am I faulting anyone who is ready to make a move on Heath (that's why words like 'suspect' and 'could be' were chosen). All I'm saying is that dumping Heath may be premature. I understand where you're coming from on the 'jazzed' thing but win streaks have been few and far between lately and I'm not so much pumped over beating SC than I am in the way it was done. Very impressive; the Hogs treated that Gamecocks team the way they should have been treated. I agree with comment on the players behavior in the Miss St. game but where did that come from? You would say that the players found it solely within themselves. I would say that the coach probably had a little imput as well. ;^) Which of us is right? Who knows–maybe we both are…

  13. Kendallp says:

You right about Nolan doing something I do not have the guts to do. Telling my employer to take this job and shove it on TV. Of course I am not guaranteed to be paid anything if I do say it.
