Great job Dr. White
Great day in Arkansas
Go Hogs Go
I hear he has already fired Nutt and has Mal-a-zahn coming in for an interview this evening. Maybe Mushtain will come back, too? I hope we can all stop these kinds of jokes and get behind everybody on the payroll in Razorback Ravine, but I couldn't help myself.
Not much to comment on here since I know not what his "core" desires are. It would not appear that he has any urgent issues on the AD's plate and that should help him get his feet on the ground. It is obvious that with White having tried to push Broyles out several years ago that he cut Broyles out of the process to ensure that his selection answered to him and that he had no connection with the past at Arkansas. From a management standpoint probably most would have wanted "their" man and not someone connected to Broyles. And who can argue with that? I did wonder whether he would stay put at Arkansas since he has a rolling resume. However, one cannot fault anyone for changing jobs where there are good reasons for moving. Why would one not want to move out of Pittsburgh to NW Arkansas? Wishing Jeff Long the best. Obviously, when coaching vacancies come under him, he would be in a positiion of strength to go nationally whereas with Broyles some coaches may have been reluctant to work at the UofA under a former football coach in the saddle and for one who has not hesitated to meddle with the team, even to the point of voicing his opinion as to who the assistants are. For sure, a new era is commencing.
Now White needs to look at the horrible job that the women's AD is doing. Taking the LadyBacks Basketball down, down, down. However, I believe that may have been rectified by the hire of Louisville's coach, but the old coach took the program down so far fans will have to be patient with him as he rebuilds the program that Susie took down the tube.
Whatever else you want to say about this guy, at least for the first time in 30 years the coaches will actually be more important to the athletic department than the AD.
What!? Damn. My sources were wrong (again)…
