The Arkansas Razorbacks began year two with Bobby Petrino by racking up 447 yards through the air in a 48-10 thumping of Missouri State.

    Ok… went to the game – it was fun. Last time I was able to attend a game in Little Rock was the original Miracle on Markham with Matt Jones.

    Let me be the first to say… following the change to Yellow goal posts, we need to change the white out of bounds lines to yellow. Maybe the kick-offs will stay in bounds if they are yellow since it worked for field goals and extra points!

    Great way to start off the season.

    I thought the offense showed just enough to put up some big numbers.

    The defense looks much improved, but will have to play better against a good Georgia offense. STs will have have to play more consistantly as well.

    It’s too bad about L. Crawford and D. Ambrose. We’re deep enough at WR that the loss of Crawford probably won’t hurt us that much, but I assume now that with the loss of D. Ambrose, T. Wright will be getting more playing time at the DE position than the coaches would have liked.

    We’ll have to have some of the younger players step up at the LB position now.

    Overall, i’m pleased with the outcome.

    I think the next 2 weeks in practice will pretty much focus on how the coaches want our players to perform the rest of the season.

    The Georgia game will be a big one.

    I still can’t beleive that in one of the most anticipated home openers in 10 years, the Hogs run the opening kickoff for a TD. The place was electric before the game, and when DJ ran it in it was the loudest I’ve heard WMS in 20 years. Even louder than Dick-to-Crawford to beat LSU last year.

    In my opinion, the D played great the first half of the first quarter; then they seemed to take the rest of the game off. The first two defensive series were very intense, and once the Hogs were up by 2-3 touchdowns they relaxed. I think they will have a more focused effort when they get in SEC play.

    Our offense is incredible. FINALLY we have some recievers that actually make plays vs only catching the ball when it hits them in the numbers. And the yards after catch were very impressive. My only concern is with Green – he has got to use that body more agressively and run some people over. He looked very timid in his 3 goal line carries. Sure, the line could have done better but he needs to get lower and plow through those folks. He was hitting the hole straight up. The good news is that we could have easily put 70 on the board if the first team stayed in.

    Can’t wait to see what we really have when we play Georgia. Fayetteville will be nuts for that game!!!

    If I was Georgia, I would run the ball and control the clock. I would make us stop the run. I hope we are good enough to do it. I anticipate a very physical game with Georgia trying to put pressure on the Ryan early. I anticipate Georgia’s Dbacks bumping at the line and I anticipate Joe Adams and Greg Childs putting up some big numbers as they are physical enough to get by them. If we don’t turn the ball over, I think we win Georgia going away.

    I’m with you, OBH. If the Hogs don’t turn the ball over, I believe we can jump on the Bulldogs early and make them play catchup.

    If that happens, we should be able to force Cox into making some mistakes.
