Congratulations to HogNEdmond for the closest prediction last time of 31-24. His quote: “As good as the offense has been at home, it has struggled equally as bad on the road. I have a bad feeling.”
Ah yes, HogNEdmond…we remember getting that “bad feeling” during overtime. A tough loss, for sure…but one that’s now (mostly) behind us. Hopefully the excitement you felt when you received your winning RBN t-shirt helped you get over the guilt of picking LSU to get it. Ha…just kidding! Nice job, man.
As for the RazorBloggers mini-prediction contest, yours truly is attempting to blow it. After having a nearly insurmountable 2.5 game lead with three to play, Sunshine has won the last two contests to narrow the gap to 1/2 game. I’m starting to get that “bad feeling” again.
Since it’s been a few weeks, if anyone needs a quick refresher on how we judge the winner of our little contest, you can check the rules here. So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: The Hogs should be able to run the ball, setting up the play-action passing game, while the defense struggles to stop the balanced Pirates. Eddie Money gets ‘em “Shakin’” in the second half and “Just like Ronnie (Wingo) sang…I say, just like Ronnie sang…Hogs finish strong.” Arkansas 35, East Carolina 24.
HogBaller: The Liberty Bowl and Memphis provide Hog fans with a bevy of “B’s”: Beale, Blues, Blowout and BBQ. The Hog offense proves too much and puts this one out of reach early. “Will Mallett Turn Pro” 48, “But I Don’t Wanna Be A Pirate” 19.
HogBlogger: Next year starts now. Arkansas 42, East Carolina 24.
TipsterHog: With 50,000+ Razorback fans expected to attend on Saturday, the 2010 Liberty Bowl should feel like a home game. And, as HogNEdmond said, this offense performs much better at home. Arkansas 42, East Carolina 27.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “Skip Holtz finds time to interview for two more jobs at halftime” or “A Pirate’s life for us. Hogs roll.”
