This is a game they should've won. We matched up well size wise with them but once again, found a way to blow it in the end. That's 2 games now we've let the opposition score with hardly any time left unguarded under the goal. I will say it again, either bring back Fortson or let the kid go.

I agree, either let Courtney play or let him go. When we played Louisville, Bob Knight stated that he would rather run his players up and down the bleachers than suspend them. This method is less publicized, less humiliating, and more effective. Since Phel has taken control it appears to be just that, control of hearts and minds. I have lost count on how many players have been suspended and or left the team. Does this sound like fun or a team you would want to play for? also, I cannot remember the last time the Razorbacks have ran anything that resembled an offense. I think the guys are intimidated and afraid to turn it loose. I am a disciplinarian but Phel, lighten up it is not about you! It is about the Arkansas Razorbacks!!
I have heard from a trainer that Fortson is being held out this semester to focus on grades. If that is true then Phel is risky his own reputation for the sake of getting courtney straightened out. And I would applaud that.
If that is true, then I too applaud him as well but why not say that to the public & end the speculation? CF was iffy with his grades from the day he got his clearance letter from the NCAA but the way it looks is there is a discipline issue. Whatever the case may be, would it not behoove CJP to issue a statement, or Fortson for that matter. As tomahog points out, who would want to play for Coach P when they don't even know what's going on with players? Either way, Pell recruited Fortson so he has to deal with the situation. I just don't think shutting out the public is the way to go from a recruiting standpoint or for the future of our program.
Honestly I don't think CF could have helped us win the other night. When ever you get beat on a last second dunk its poor coaching. Somebody in that huttle shoud have said make sure we don't let them get a layup I could have lived with a last second shot for them to win but a dunk cum on. I just hope once we lay a goose egg in the SEC we can go out and find a good coach or should I say a proven coach. The one thing you can say about Stan is that he improved every year. Pel is finding a way to get worse.
This team would be at least two wins better with Fortson. Powell is a great talent. Clark is a great shooter. Washington needs to toughen up more, but did play well yesterday. The game was far better played by the Hogs than some of the previous ones. Good energy to start the game, considering the dismal crowd on hand. The end of the the 1st half was really hard to watch though. I blame that on lack of depth. Face it folks, after the starting five, we just aren't very good, and won't be until we get some more players. I am really excited to see the maturation of Powell. Coach Pelphrey is the right coach for Arkansas. He just needs the players. I think he will learn from his mistakes and take character and 'IQ' more serious in future recruiting efforts. Go Hogs Go!!!
Fire Pelphrey TODAY!! Start the New Year off right. Stop the death spiral. The damage to our recruiting and the future will take years to reverse. Pitiful.
