Congratulations to reader Austin Hog for the closest prediction last week of 52-7. Austin’s quote: “Wingo runs for two and Wilson throws for three. Even the Hogs’ backups look dominant.”
Well…the backups did look pretty darn good. So much so that backups Kody Walker and Brandon Mitchell stole a few of those TDs away from Wingo and Wilson. But it’s all good. And now a spiffy new RBN T-shirt is headed your way, Austin. Nice job.
So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: The Lobos stagger into Little Rock after dropping a winnable home game last week. The focus Saturday, though, will be on the Razorbacks run game and whether it can get on track. We know that Lobo head coach Mike Locksley will ‘come out swinging‘…but the Hogs have too many weapons. Arkansas 47, New Mexico 9.
HogBaller: The Razorbacks make quick work of the Lobos in what should be a repeat of last week’s game. Expect another dominating performance from the Hog defense, who will put points on board for the first time this season. And a fast start means Petrino and staff can “experiment” with player combinations and extend playing time for the backups and underclassmen. Arkansas 61, New Mexico 6.
HogBlogger: The Hogs focus on execution, consistency and the running game while giving to Lobos a serious working over. Arkansas 45, New Mexico 3.
TipsterHog: The Lobos — or the ‘LowBlows’ as they’re called by some in their state — have set a new low with only two wins in the last two seasons. The Hogs hit ‘em where it hurts again on Saturday. Arkansas 38, New Mexico 10.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “Congrats UNM…your Big 12 membership has been approved” or “Apparently ‘lobo’ is the Spanish word for ‘loser.’ Hogs roll.”

We'll see another fast start followed by more work for the younger players. A little closer than last week, though. Ark 44 NM 13

Hogs win 52-0. Bequette gets 3 sacks IF he play past half. New Mexico is on par with Mizzou St on a good day and Mike Locksley attends the Houston Nutt coaching clinic every year.
Hogs 59 Lobos 10. Wilson gains more confidence while throwing 4TDs. Running game improves and defense plays the part. Next up Troy.
Running game shows promise.

At least two rushers with 100 yards!
This could be a game where the Hogs put up 100 points if Petrino would let them. The scary thing for the Lobos is that our backups aren't that big a drop off on offense and defense. The only way Petrino can hold back is if the water boys play. This is going to be a blowout of epic proportions and Petrino starts looking in the stands for people to dress out to minimize the damage.

This defense would not have given up any points last week, but for a bad turnover by the offense. This week they make that up.
Willy wants a shutout. Defense maybe good for 2-3 touchdowns. BP Will spare the regulars for the really big one: Troy State! 55-0 (two field goals – hocker needs the practice

Hogs roll!
Hog D wanted the shut out last week, but came up a little short with a turnover by the offense and a 33 yard pass play by the Bears.
Now the Hogs look to shut out the Lobos and come up short again, this time on a FG.
Hogs – 53, Lobos – 3.
If the Lobos were only good for 10 points against CSU, how can they score against the best Hog defense in decades?

Hogs continue where they left off. Adams comes back to earth and only has 1 punt return for a TD.

Hog run away with it. 56-6. Cobi leads receivers but there will be three different ones with touchdowns. Who came up with Lobos?
Isn't the name Lobos spanish for coyote or something? If so, I suppose they're seen pretty regular in New Mexico.
What I will be looking for is fewer penalties and penalty yardage (we have to cut out the "big" penalties) and we need to convert a higher percentage of our third downs (60% or more). If we begin to make improvements in these two areas and improve our running game (dependent upon improved O-line blocking) we should beat everybody this year.
As for this game, the Hogs 45 Lobos 0

need to stick to scheduling the red wolves.
Hogs experiment with their lab opposition team. They come up with a dominating performance while seeing who works well with who. The blind lab rats do find a nutt here and there, but have to settle for little each time. Hogs raise hell 54-6……… if the starters stayed, there might have been a lab explosion!
