Arkansas 76, South Carolina 65

ESPN.com: Arkansas 76, South Carolina 65

BJ Young scored 27 points Saturday as Arkansas set a record for victories at Bud Walton Arena with a 76-65 win over South Carolina.

Nice recovery from the GA game. How ’bout Brandon Mitchell? This guy an athlete or what? I’ve never seen a team have so many injuries to key players and to keep winning, much less to set a record for home wins in a season. And B.J.Young. Phenomenal. They have exceeded all my expectations for this season; every win from now on is ice cream on top.

Anyone notice that Georgia knocked off Mississippi State in OT at Starksville? Makes me think we caught Georgia at the wrong time of year. They’re on a roll.

The same thing could be said about a lot of our other road losses. LSU didn’t have Johnny O’Donnell as their starting center in Fayetteville. They had him in Baton Rouge though, not to mention a couple of interesting calls down the stretch.

Bama, LSU and Georgia all have talented teams, but were playing inspired basketball out of desperation from consecutive league losses. That’s a bad time for a young team to catch someone on their home court.

Tennessee is next in Knoxville. They’re playing very well right now with Jarnell Stokes playing inside. He’s a man.
Too bad we couldn’t land him. He’s playing like a star already and the Vols just knocked off Florida in Gainsville. Not a good sign for us.

We usually don’t shoot very well on the road and get dominated on the boards. This plays right into the hands of Tennessee. Sure hope our luck changes.

Oh yeah, one more thing. If I heard this correctly, it was stated on the Bo Mattingly Show (Jimmy Dykes I think?) that the SEC is a much improved league this year and has an overall RPI rating of #4? Anyone know for sure if this is correct?
