Sophomore Ryne Stanek threw six innings and Barrett Astin closed it out to lead the University of Arkansas baseball team to a 2-1 victory over South Carolina in the winner’s bracket of the College World Series on Monday night in Omaha, Neb.

    Check out the post-game presser. Sounded like the press corps wasn’t expecting to talk to Van Horn and Co.

    Pretty sad, especially for as big a win as this was.

    Way to go HOGS!!!! Fantastic Win!!! Rest up and get ready to face these guys again (that is unless the wheels just totally come off, which I seriously doubt Tanner will allow to happen).

    If they win, and we play them again, maybe, just maybe we will be ready for that one kid who is so fast nobody can believe it. He can score a triple on a bunt. – Just ask Orel.

      Yeah…right. Made me sick the kid made that great play in the outfield because I just knew I’d have to keep hearing about his ‘awesome’ speed, again…and again…and…

      Noticed they didn’t have too much to say when Fic played deep when Speedy was up and USCe had a man on third. Orel said Fic was playing too deep but that didn’t stop him from tagging Speedy out on way to first.

    The media always falls in love with history. Until SC was beaten and their post-season win steak of 22 was silenced, they were going to be made out as invincible in the CWS.

    Glad we were the ones to silence them. All eyes are on us and Arizona State now.

    Three more wins guys. Three more wins and we’re the NCs of college baseball!!!…WPS!!!
