The University of Arkansas baseball team dropped a 3-2 final to the two-time defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks at the College World Series on Friday night at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., to finish third nationally.

    Thanks for the kudos. I really thought this might be year we take it all, but SC is a great team and deserves credit for a great 3 year run.

    What a run. Really proud of the way the Hogs competed down the stretch.

    Van Horn handled the awful home plate umpiring a lot better than I would have. When everybody on the field and in the dugout is doing their job, and one guy (Perry Costello) doesn’t do his, it’s a shame.

      I am sick! You come this far and awful balls and strikes calling ends our season.runs 2 and 3 were all pitches on the border and the same pitches even some further off the plate were called strikes for SC.Bullshemp!!!

        All I know this series is, the ump was calling every low, inside pitch. And carolina was jamming us the whole both games. Those strike out pitches that cost us some runs in the end just hurt. I was taught to look at we’re the strike zone was and swing the bat accordingly. We didn’t capitalize…by ESPN instant replay they clearly show we could have challenged that we could had extended the game to extra innings and won. But that’s the history of baseball.

        I’m very proud of our teams approach, as well as VanHorn and our Players.

    was it just me but did we get hosed by the umpires calling balls on pitches that were called strikes for SC?
