Razorback Practice Roundup — August 2nd

The 10th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks football team kicked off its fall camp on Thursday with a pair of practices.  Listed below are status updates and links to articles and video that were posted on social media sites and news outlets.

The fact that B.Mitchell looked good at WR is big on two fronts. One it gets another playmaker on the field, and two, it must mean they feel pretty comfortable with Brandon Allen as the #2 QB. Good to see.

Correctemundo, and another thing I liked, Sunshine, was the fact JLS spent the first half of the practice focusing on defense.
That either means he’s comfortable with CPP running the show over there with a lot of Sr. leadership on offense or there’s going to be a major, major focus on developing a better D this season or both. ;)

I still say Keante Minor is going to suprise a few folks this season. It’s his time.

I think we’ll be dangerous inside the 20 with a couple of WRs like Cobi and Brandon on the field at the same time.
Both of those guys will be hard to match up with for opposing CBs and Tyler is very good at lofting the ball down the sideline or putting it in the corner of the endzone. Ive been watching him do that since high school.

This is one of the best group of Freshmen skill players i’ve ever seen come up here in one class.
Lots and lots of speed and quikness…I love it!…WPS!!!

I don’t think that there is any question that this is the best talent from top to bottom ever on the Fayetteville campus.

Even with the non-Petrino factor hanging over their heads they have continued to recruit quality talent. Bobby always stockpiled offensive skill players and left the defense thin. I hope they will be balancing that out to a degree. But, if you are to be an offensive football team, and I hope we continue to be, that will always be the case. At least we have a D-line ready and a serviceable back seven.

I just wish we were deeper at LB and more experienced at FS. Those are my biggest concerns on D.
