SB Nation BlogPoll Ballot – Week 13

So what happens if everyone has one loss? It appears that is where this thing is headed.  Notre Dame is the only unbeaten left (unless you count Ohio State), and they face a stiff test this weekend vs. USC.

SB Nation BlogPoll Top 25 Logo 2Alabama has to be feeling like they are destined to win this thing again, as two of the teams ahead of them – Kansas State and Oregon – get picked off.  The Wildcats loss to Baylor was the more shocking score, as the Bears out rushed KSU 342-76…wow.

It is likely the polls, including the BlogPoll, will have the Irish #1.  Despite their perfect 11-0 record, the eye test tells us they are not the best team.  A national championship matchup between Alabama and Notre Dame would likely be a two touchdown spread.  We’re sure it wouldn’t hurt the Tide’s feelings if the Ducks were left out.

A ton of great games are on tap for this Thanksgiving weekend.  Oregon-Oregon State, Notre Dame-USC, Michigan-Ohio State, Florida-Florida State and Clemson-South Carolina…all should make for another thrilling weekend.  This thing is far from decided.

You can find the complete BlogPoll here when it comes out each Tuesday morning. So, without further ado, here’s the RBN ballot this week:

Is this the same Coach Richt that was on the hot seat to start the season in some analyst minds? Yep. It is. Maybe Richt’s time is due since he gets Alabama in Atlanta. Although I have not followed either team this year, it would appear the Notre Dame and Ohio State should be higher ranked than they are at present…especially Ohio State. A bunch of somebodies apparently loves Oregon. USC and ND game is a toss up with ND having the edge. There frequently are upsets in this game but with blondie ailing with a shoulder injury, ND should handily win the game.

The Gruden talk is ridiculous. When they start off with offers like that you know they got nothing. Florida fans learned, when start by offering Bob Stoops you end up with Ron Zook.

  • Logic

Yes, the “eye test” is definitely a better metric to use than results on the field. Losing a game 35-7 and giving up 44 points to Tennessee (a team with 1 win vs. AQ opponents) is the kind of “style points” that outshine a team that is 11-0 with no FCS cupcakes on the schedule.
