Congratulations to longtime reader Carolina Hog for the closest prediction last week of 24-7. His quote: “I’m not sure our offense can put up big points, but I’m liking the D.” Agreed…the defense is improved from previous years. Times have certainly changed when there’s more confidence in the Hogs’ defense than the offense, huh? Congrats Carolina…another RBN T-shirt is headed your way. Just a few more wins and you’ll have enough to wear a different one every day of the week!
Here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: I had this one down as a win before the season started. But without Allen, I’m not so sure now. I would like to think if A.J. Derby can throw for 100 yards, the Hogs win. Given the reluctance the coaches had to throw it last week, I don’t know if that happens. Fingers crossed. Arkansas 21, Rutgers 20.
HogBaller: I think Derby will be under center on Saturday and the Hogs will ride the offensive line and legs of Collins and Williams. Playing on the road without your starting QB and going up against the most quality opponent to this point in the season does not bode well for the Razorbacks. Rutgers 24, Arkansas 17.
HogBlogger: Good thing the Hogs will be flying back. Driving can take forever when you won’t pass. Rutgers 28, Arkansas 21.
TipsterHog: My thinking has been simplified based on last week’s offensive performance: If Brandon Allen plays, we win. If he doesn’t, we lose. Hopefully he plays. Arkansas 27, Rutgers 17.
