Congratulations to reader Pigsooietime for the spot-on exact prediction last week of 34-14. His quote: “We’re run heavy all game. We control the tempo better then in the past. Defense gets 3 turnovers. We all jump on the Bielema bandwagon and ride into the sunset.” Dang Pigsooietime…did you get an advanced screening of the game? That’s a scary good prognostication right there. More than deserving of an RBN T-shirt. Congrats.
Here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: The Hogs showed nice balance in the first game against a pretty good Louisiana team. Samford will be a step down in competition, so expect a lot of second teamers to see plenty of action Saturday. Defense comes close, but is denied the shutout in the fourth quarter. Arkansas 47, Samford 7.
HogBaller: Samford will face a physical and confident Razorback team that looked better in the opener than I expected (especially at the quarterback position). Look for Arkansas to use the same formula against the Bulldogs on Saturday. Will we have a repeat of 100 yard rushers? Arkansas 42, Samford 17.
HogBlogger: A bit of a letdown in opponent hopefully will not lead to a letdown by the Hogs. Last week’s statement needs some punctuation. I expect to see a bunch. Arkansas 38, Samford 10.
TipsterHog: For those of us with low expectations for the season, the poise and strong execution by this team last Saturday was a very pleasant surprise. No reason to think this Saturday will be any different. Arkansas 49, Samford 13.
