Football Recruiting: Surgical Precision

Cornelius FloydFrom all accounts, it was a great recruiting weekend on the Hill, as the Hogs hosted seven recruits.  The two most notable who are uncommitted were four-star offensive lineman Andrew Mike (6-7, 275) of Tuscon (Sabino), Arizona and three-star Miami (Gulliver), Florida cornerback Cornelius Floyd (6-0, 170, 4.4).

Mike’s visit came on the heels of fellow Arkansas recruit OT Frank Ragnow (6-6, 288) announcing his final three of Florida State, Arkansas and Minnesota earlier in the week.

Recruiting expert Otis Kirk of Hawgs247 first reported that the Hog coaches, led by offensive line coach Sam Pittman, arranged for Mike, who wants to major in Pre-Med, to observe a surgery performed by one of the Razorbacks orthopedic surgeons.  How cool is that?

After visiting Fayetteville this weekend, Mike is scheduled to visit Florida next week.

There are also indicatations Floyd may make a decision soon if his visit goes well this weekend.  Once thought to be leaning to Oklahoma, Floyd would be a big pickup to bolster the Hogs in the secondary.  Randy Shannon and Taver Johnson are tag-teaming his recruitment.

The Hogs are currently ranked #32 by 247Sports and #29 by Rivals.com.
