Hold All Tickets: Week 15 Championship Weekend

College Football Playoff TrophyChampionship Week is here, and with the College Football Playoff entries on the line, expect everyone’s best performance.

In our friendly, season long competition with Arkansas Fight, Graham came back down to earth finally after four sizzling weeks.  His sub-par Week 14 left the door slightly cracked open for us…now we just have to walk through it.

Here we go.

Bowling Green at Northern Illinois – In our early Friday tilt, these two fight it out for MAC supremacy.  Bowling Green limps in, losers of two straight.  Northern Illinois and QB Drew Hare are hot, winners of six straight, including a huge 31-21 win over a good Western Michigan team last week.  Hare has only thrown one interception vs. 15 TDs on the season, and should have success this week against a weak BG secondary.  Northern Illinois -6.5.

Arizona vs. Oregon – What is it about Arizona that Oregon can’t figure out.  The Wildcats have won the last two in this series – 42-16 in Tuscon last year, and 31-24 this year in Eugene.  Some seem to think it is the 3-3-5 defense Arizona runs, which has been successful limiting the Ducks rushing attack.  We think the trend continues, and this one stays under the number.  Arizona/Oregon Under 75.

Louisiana Tech at Marshall – How will Marshall react after blowing a chance for an undefeated regular season and a New Year’s Day bowl?  After giving up 738 total yards in their 67-66 loss to Western Kentucky, The Herd will try to outscore Louisiana Tech this week.  LT hung 76 points on Rice last week and has won 6 of 7.  We like the points in this one.  Two separate bets: Louisiana Tech +12 and Louisiana Tech/Marshall Over 68.

Florida State vs. Georgia Tech – The entire civilized world is rooting against Florida State in this one.  While Jameis Winston continues to make mistakes – 4 Ints against Florida last week – he continues to find ways to win close games.  It is hard to see Georgia Tech’s defense stopping FSU.  Two separate bets: Florida State -4 and Florida State/Georgia Tech Over 60.

Temple at Tulane – Two bad teams here and two bad offenses.  Temple is 5-6 and trying to get bowl eligible.  The Owls have lost five of six and only averaged 12.7 PPG in that stretch.  Tulane has lost four of five and averaged 14 PPG in those games.  Temple’s defense is the better unit here, and we think they play inspired in their attempt to reach a bowl for the first time since 2011.  Two separate bets: Temple -3 and Temple/Tulane Under 44.

Kansas State at Baylor – Baylor is fresh off a 48-46 win over Texas Tech, however the Bears managed to give up a staggering 712 total yards in the process.  Kansas State is 9-1 ATS in the last 10 games in which it was a regular-season dog of 7+ points, including 6-0 ATS on the road.  With Baylor QB Bryce Petty dinged last week (concussion) we like the points here in what should be a high scoring affair.  Two separate bets: Kansas State +8.5 and Kansas State/Baylor Over 66.

Fresno State at Boise State – The Mountain West title is on the line as the Bulldogs visit Boise.  The Broncos have been sizzling on offense the last two weeks, putting up 113 points.  In their mid-season meeting, Boise State outgained Fresno by a 492-313 margin in a game that wasn’t as close as the 37-27 final score.  Fresno hasn’t won in Boise since 1984.  Boise State -21.
