Tip-Off Time 2016 — Basketball Predictions

Head Coach Mike Anderson and his Razorbacks will open the 2016-17 basketball season on Friday night against Fort Wayne at Bud Walton Arena.  The game will be broadcast on radio and online by the Razorback Sports Network beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Moses Kingsley (Photo by Scout.com)While the Hogs didn’t get much love in the pre-season polls last week, insiders know this should be a much improved unit from a year ago.  A solid recruiting class, including several junior college stars, should provide a much needed spark.

It goes without saying…it is a ‘make or break season’ for Anderson.  A NCAA tourney run is expected.  “We’re Back.  Watch out for us,” said Anderson at SEC Media Days.  Time to back it up in his 6th season at Arkansas…and we think he will.

The Hogs were picked to finish fifth at last month’s Media Day.  In addition, Moses Kingsley was selected as the pre-season Player of the Year and also to the All-SEC First Team.

As for us here at RBN, just like we have done before, here are our predictions for both the Razorbacks and the rest of the SEC.

So that’s what we think.  What are your predictions for this season?  Will the Hogs live up to expectations in Mike Anderson’s sixth year?

  1. Hogs finish the season on an 8-0 run, play 8th ranked Kentucky in the SEC tournament Championship game to secure an 8th seed on their way to the elite 8.
    The Hogs are back!!!
    I like Mike.

  2. I always miss college basketball and then it comes around and this game tonight is a whistle fest. This is the longest 2nd half ever…this is an improved team for sure but the NCAA is turning this sport into something painful to watch

  3. Wait….we are missing a set of predictions. Or is it possible that Tipster is so disengaged from Hog Hoops that he can’t even be bothered to participate?! Say it ain’t so, Tipster!
