VU’s last outright win in an SEC opener occurred in 1990 when the Dores beat LSU, 24-21, in Nashville (VU was credited with a win over Alabama in 1993 due to a forfeit). The last time the Commodores opened their Southeastern Conference schedule with a road victory was 1984… That year, VU beat Alabama, 30-21, in Tuscaloosa… The Commodores last won two straight road games in 1999 (Ole Miss and Duke).
