Another game, another really cool Razorbacks trick play. Last time it was the “Swinging Gate” against ‘Bama.
Now it’s the “Woody” trick play against Auburn. Well…that’s apparently what it’s officially called. I prefer the name a message board poster gave it: “The Fishbone.” Here’s the video courtesy of GTHogFan on YouTube.

I live in Washington state and don't get a lot of hog news, so it is good to find your website. Personally, your site is the best of all the other sites that I visit(hawgsports, razorbackcentral, etc). Most of the others are financially driven and don't give a frank assessment of what is really going on in razorback football.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

"It ain't like football. You can't make up no trick plays." – Yogi Berra – obviously speaking of the recent fate of his beloved Yankees. I just made that up but that in quotes belongs to Yogi – maybe speaking of Don Larsen's perfect game. Now that's Trickeration – but alas, wrong sport.
Say, the contest ought to be opened up for the coolest sounding "trick play" moniker. We already have a better word for "trick play" – Trickeration. Man, that's a cool word. Although as many times as Tim Brando said it Saturday he may well have jinxed it for all of us trick play lovers. These may never work again.
On to the candidates – "Swinging Gate" while effective – too bland.
"Fishbone" – now that sounds really good. Has a good beat and probably easy to dance to besides gaining a ton of trickery yards (28). Hey should these plays now have a stat line on their own? I'm thinking that the NCAA will consider it in spring meetings. Goofier things have been on that table huh?
"The first points came on a second period controversial 19-yard "fumblerooskie" play. The QB took the snap from center and dropped the ball on the ground, an intentional fumble. The offensive line went to the right except for the right guard, who pulled to his left, picked up the ball and rambled around left end for the score." (the names have been changed to protect the innocent).
"Fumble-Rooskie" – now there's a heck of a trick play name. It looks tricky. It sounds tricky but may be too difficult for some to say. It was indeed tricky. Often imitated and occasionally duplicated.
Now then, there should be a category for "trick play" style points too. That may well have to carry the most weight in our selection. The "swinging gate" was more of a surprise play. We may have to think again about whether or not that was real "Trickeration". No style points for the "gate". That was just plain surprise smash mouth blocking and running.
The "fumble-rooskie" gets the vote for the most confusing. Scored a touchdown but while I applauded it, a 300 pound guard lumbering into the endzone is not a real display of style now is it?
The "Fishbone" was certainly not "short" on style (get it?). The ghoulish October crawl to hide behind the line. The smooth "downward" delivery from M16 to the Fish. And the smooth Zero to 60 acceleration by the "Fish" himself. Athletic supporters were scattered about the playing field caused by the numerous fakes carried out by backs and receivers. That alone gives this week's Trickeration award to the "Fishbone".
