Good golly it seems like it’s been a long time since the Hogs last played a game. But after two weeks of rumors and speculation, I’m just glad we’ll finally have something “real” to talk about again.
Thanks to Mr. Wide Right, yours truly took over the lead last time in our very unofficial (and unsanctioned) RazorBloggers prediction race. Who knows what the rest of the year holds. But after four games, I bask in the bright light of Sunshine in my rear view mirror: TipsterHog 2, HogBlogger 1, Sunshine 1.
Congratulations to reader HJHog for the closest prediction of 24-21. His quote: “Close game in the end, with the ‘quick scoring’ Hogs coming out on top. Why does it end this way? That is because it will be such a tight game that HDN cannot put us into the ‘four corners’ scheme and we score the winning points with one minute to go.” Well technically…the final point margin was actually tallied with no time on the clock. But other than that, I gotta give HJ his mad props. So here we go this week:
Walking on Sunshine: As much as I would like to believe that our Hogs can go into a hostile environment, with a freshman QB, and beat the #2 team in the country, I cannot. Especially after I found out that regular commenter 10KHog will be in attendance. (He’s pretty much only attended “disastrous away games” – see Stoerner Fumble game and SECCG against Georgia.) I had this one easily for Auburn to start the season. And even though the 11 a.m. kickoff helps the visitors, the Tiger defense will just be too much. We win the next three after this one, but not this week.  Auburn 33, Arkansas 15.
HogBlogger: The Hogs have been getting worse on offense and the defense can’t get itself off the field. The front lines make the difference. Auburn will dominate. We only score if the Gus bus rolls, but I’m thinking that could be a stretch since the tires are mismatched. Auburn 31, Arkansas 17.
TipsterHog: It’s the score I started the week out with and I haven’t read or heard anything that’s changed my mind. And apparently Auburn’s biggest concern at the moment is whether or not they’ll get screwed out of the BCS championship game again.  That being the case, at least it should make the Hogs feel a little better that the Tigers are looking past everyone else in the SEC, too.  Auburn 42, Arkansas 7.
Leave a comment with your pick and feel free to add your own take like “Tommy T. enjoys barbecuing smelly, wet Hogs” or “It’s really not that lovely of a village or a plain. Hogs roll.”

Correction Sunshine – I was not in attendance for the Stoerner Stumble. It was the Donahoe Doink… in the 6 OT game that we should've won in the third OT (which is why I don't feel bad about beating Bama like we did) as well as the Georgia massacre and the Ole Piss Thumping in Oxford.
I will be in attendance at the Loveliest Village on the Plains. Because of my attendance and the fact that the hogs are on a 2 game road win streak with myself (MSU in 04 and Vandy this year) in attendance I think the hogs have a chance. But, Nutt continues to not let up on the parking brake of the Gus Bus and the hogs lose:
Hogs 24
Tigers 28
We continue to see how far we still have to go as Tigers roll easy…
Tigers 35 Hogs 14
Half-a-hundred fellas…..half-a-hundred. Reggie Herring's defense is a sham.
Tigers 55
Hogs 14
How it will be:
Auburn comes out running the ball down our throats early. We stiffen in late 2nd Qtr. They score on a long pass. before half. making it 14-7 Tigers. Same formula second half. But we are so scared of getting burned again K.Irons runs wild. Final score 35-17. K Irons 150yds 2 TDs.
How it cold be:
Back and forth battle alot of 3 and outs. Field position battle. Auburn wins 14-10.
Tigers/War Eagles (whatever) 38
Hogs 10
After the game, more questions arise and the darksiders speak out.
10KHog gets a lot of grief from our friend "War Eagle".
15 yr old Starting QB with his first SEC road start (no, Vandy is not a road game) spells trouble for the Hogs.
Arkansas gets major break with the 11:00 AM start. The stands probably won't even be full by kickoff. (Note: if you're going, be in your seat by 10:30 to see the eagle fly).
Cox throws for 300 and Kenny runs for 100 and 10KHog gets to talk about how he wishes he were an Auburn man for 10 hours on the way home.
Tigers – 41
Hogs – 6
*takes a double shot of kool-aid*
Alright, I'll be the first. Hogs defense stands up and holds Irons to 94 rushing yards, Cox throws a pick and Auburn gives us great field postion at some point after we recover one of their onside kicks.
Riverboat gambler draws dead, Hogs win 28-24
hogs – 35 Au – 21
watch and see baby!!!!!!!
Man it is good to see that there are still some true-believers out there who are picking the Hogs over the war-tigers or whatever! I unfortunately have to pick against the hogs for the first time of the year. Tiggs 27 – Hogs 20 (Note the missed PAT)
Arkansas puts on a clinic of how to balance the pass and run. Mustain 3 tds, McFadden 2 tds, Jones and Williams 1 apiece. Auburn mounts a late comback, but comes up just short. Arkansas 48 Auburn 39
We have had 2 much needed weeks to prepare. I think if we start a different qb and rotate m16 into the line up we have a real shot at winning. With that being said I like Ark 28-24.
Cool site. First time poster. The Hogs will come out with a nothing to lose attitude. The week off will give the offense the repetition that it needs and allow McFadden's toe more healing time (I think it's been bothering him more than everyone thinks…he's just too much of a stud to use it as an excuse). The offense will show a glimpse of their potential and appear to be a finely tuned machine. Mustain will be successful using short quick passes and McFadden will have a big first half. The hogs will have 2 big plays (30+) to score. The Razorbacks will also score a TD by taking advantage of a panicking Tiger team trying to do too much and turning the ball over in the red zone. They will tack on a FG (but also miss a long one). At the end of an (almost) flawless first half it will be all Arkansas with a 24-7 lead. The combination of the Tigers regrouping at halftime to make the appropriate adjustments and Arkansas getting conservative because they think they have a chance to win will change the game completely. Auburn will score 17 points and Arkansas will tack on a field to make the score 27-24 late in the 4th. Arkansas will miss a chip shot field goal at this point and Auburn will score the go ahead touchdown to make it 31-27 with 2 minutes to go. Arkansas will revert to their loose game and make a final drive into the red zone. The previous missed field goal will force the Hogs into needing a TD and they'll come up short, losing a heartbreaker 31-27. Hog fans will feel sick about the huge upset that slipped through their fingers, but feel great about the glimpses of potential. The debate will really heat up about the seemingly 2 different teams.
Seriously folks, our offense put up 20 on Utah State and 17 against Alabama in regulation. No way we break 20 against Auburn on the road. (Jayhawg, we couldn't put up 49 against UAPB).
I think our extra week of preparation gives us a spark early as we catch them with a few surprises. When the game settles, however, the Auburn D shuts us down and their running game wears us down. I think this is close for a half and gets away from us in the 3rd quarter – a la USC.
Auburn 34
Arkansas 14
Okay guys, this is the No. 2 team in the nation. There cannot be that much Koolaid to go around. Snort …. I mean drink …. as much as you can prior to kickoff.
Auburn 39
Hogs 10
I want to feel good about this game, but I just don't. Which is a shame, because a win here would put us in great shape for a 10 win season. Alas, with the loss, we are probably still staring down 8-4…
Auburn 31
Arkansas 17
Hogs run the Hurry Up No Houston Offense to prefection and catch the tigers by the tail through 3. The spread works just as it did for South Carolina and Au-burn gets burned over and over again as Gus shows why he should be the only driver of the Gus Bus. Herring has our defense in good enough shape to hold the kittens to 10 through 3, but they come our roaring in the 4th. Lucky for us we are up 31 to 10 going into it and the 2 TD's and FG Auburn gets is not enough as Monk takes down the onside kick with 23 seconds left to seal it.
RAZORBACKS 31, Kitty Cats 27
Some of you guys seem like you haven't been watching college football this season. It really just depends on if your team shows up and this Saturday I believe the Hogs will put together there first complete game.Gus will finally be let lose for the first time this season to run his offense for the first half before HD comes in to try to still the glory.
I have to stick with my gut feeling which is Arkansas will pull off a major upset. I can't figure out this team yet but hey were winning so what the heck. who cares about numbers when your winning. Maybe the 12th man we don't see will be with us one more time. Something weird is happening these days that I like.
