Alex Abrams: McFadden Pulls Off Upset To Grab Second In Heisman Race

Darren McFadden pulled off a mini-upset by beating out [Brady] Quinn to finish as the Heisman runner-up behind [Troy] Smith. McFadden was considered the darkhorse among the three finalists, and the popular assumption was that the sophomore would finish behind Smith and Quinn in the Heisman race.

I really thought Darren did a good job with his interviews throughout the weekend and during the ceremony. He was relaxed, well-spoken, and thoughful with his responses. Very classy, and represented our state and University well.

Good “trial run” for next year! ;)

I thought he did a great job too. However, I didn’t think ESPN did a great job on Darren’s ’story’. They spent a lot more time on Troy Smith’s life in the hood. They basically followed Darren around New York and that was it. Show some freakin’ highlights! Like Sunshine said, they’ve got a full year to make it better.

I’m so proud of a young man that stands up from day one and says he’s a Hog. That statement of “I was born to be a Hog” made me Proud.

    Go Hogs!!!!!
