I think we actually saw all three teams in this game. As a matter of fact, it reminded me of Walking on Sunshine's "The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly".
Good in the beginning.
Bad from about the 15 minute mark in the second half to the 10 minute mark
Ugly from about the 10 minute mark until about one minute left.
But, they got the win and that's what counts. Congrats fellas on being the first team in the West to win a road game and congrats Stan on your sixth win on the road.
Let me be the first to say I have absolutely no idea what this win means for this team. Is it a turning point as some of the players seemed to indicate? Is it an aberration; an unsustainable high, only to return to the “yo-yo” up and down mode the next game?
In some of the news articles, they likened their team meeting on Friday night to the players-only meeting they held last year when things looked dire. That team reeled off 6 straight wins to secure a NCAA Tourney birth even before the SEC Tournament began. Let’s hope for that kind of push right now.
With the SEC West, whoever can make a little push like that will easily win this division. The Hogs moved from last to first in one afternoon of basketball. Crazy stuff.
It's anyone's guess, right now, who will make a push in the SEC west. I believe the hogs have the most talented starting 5 in the west, with one of the better 6th men in Vincent Hunter. We're hurting for depth at PG right now though. Without Irvin running the show, we are not the same team. Another thing that bother's me about this team is inconsistant rebounding. I still don't understand why our big men have lapses on the road. Hill, Towns, and Thomas, are all in thier 3rd year here. Hunter is in his 4th. For some reason, they still do not bring intensity to every game. Since SEC play started, I have not predicted one game right. I will conclude by saying, Kentucky will come to Bud Walton and win. I hope, once again, I will be wrong.
Please don't say anything good about this team yet because everytime we get a little excited they let us down.
