Dallas Cowboys’ offensive assistant and former Razorback assistant coach David Lee has been named offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Arkansas it was announced by Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt on Wednesday.

I have to admit that I'm not overly impressed with Lee's resume. The QB's in Dallas are nothing special(except Romo), the QB's he developed for us are not great passers (Jones and Clark), and I don't want to replicate the Rice offense of the 90's. While, I'm not bothered that Gus and Mitch are gone, this choice doesn't do much to excite me. I hope that I'm wrong. Go Hogs!
Bill Parcells seems to be really high on him and he has won a few Super Bowls in his day. With that being said if he's good enough for Bill he's good enough for me.
David Lee will be a HDN mouthpiece.We will be a regurgitated version of Broyles and Hatfield's run'em if you got'em. Look at the list of great QB's he has produced– Quincy Carter, Drew Henson, many unnamed Rice QB'S/RB, ditto UTEP.
Throw out Vinny and Drew at Big D and that leaves Romo (jury is still out), Z.Clark(yippee), and our favorite widereceiver MJ. No wonder Mitch left, he's not exactly the option type. I have always supported HDN, but it appears he is a manipulative liar who attained the signature of a prize recruit by lying. Well the lies finally caught up to him. I have nothing against Mr. Lee or HDN for that matter but it is time to purge the program of the snakeoil salesman and the dictator AD.
Reading your comments, I find it hard to believe that you have nothing against HDN or Mr. Lee. The guy hasn't even made it to campus and as far as your concerned he's already a failure. Good Grief!!!!
Yes he was good enough to be the Tuna's " Offensive Quality Control" Now that is a ringing endorsement–his track record lacks signs of inventive play calling or that he will do little more than recreate Rice's offense here on the hill–Rice and Air Force run the offense they do because they lack talent. It is an offense of antiqity that lacks the sophistication needed for high caliber conferences like the SEC.
David Lee was previously brought to Arkansas to install the radar option and plays that fit Matt Jones. While at Arkansas under Coach Hatfield he did a good job with the quarterbacks but wasn't allowed to call plays.
I'm not sure we know how good he is or can be. Not sure we will find out. Under Houston Dale no one seems to do very good as quarterback coach. When D. Lee left before it was because he had served his purpose and moved on to the Jerry Jones safety net.
I suspect he is a good offensive mind, but only so good else he'd have another job somewhere other than being part of the Arkansas wagoneers for the last 20 years.
Seems to me, the folks that have been bashing Mitch for waffling on being part of the team has complete ignored David Lee for far worse than what Mitch has "allegedly" done.
What gives with the double standard here?
