San Antonio Express-News: Analysis: Gillispie’s silence stirs Aggieland
A&M interim president Eddie Davis says in an online story in the Bryan-College Station Eagle, “I talked to coach Gillispie this morning, and he told me as far as he’s concerned, he’s the coach at Texas A&M. That’s the end of the story for me.”
Gillispie is, indeed, the coach at A&M – and only if that were the end of the story.
But it’s not.
Folks in the athletic department, folks who work with Gillispie every day, softly chuckle at the reports. There’s only one voice that matters, they say – and he’s not saying. Not even to those who work for him and around him.
An assistant coach still wonders what Gillispie’s direction will be. So does a player. The coach hasn’t clued them in. The athletic director, Bill Byrne, doesn’t really know, either, a growing point of consternation.

I think that Broyles should consider a home grown product and give someone a chance to come in make a name for themselves. I know that Hendrix College did that and the coach is now available. I really think a name like Jason Rhodes should be thrown into the mix.
I have heard of this guy. I heard he was a spectacular player in college. I say give him a chance.
This guy epitomizes what a student athlete should be. If Arkansas has become satisfied with poor academics then shame on them. Let's get someon who is committed to success on AND off the court.
i learned more from him in one year than any other coach i have ever had!
You guys are making a huge mistake passing up on this guy. I hope Barnes leaves in the near future so the horns can pick him up.
