Baum Magic…2007 Edition?

Want to get fired up for this weekend’s NCAA Fayetteville Baseball Regional?  Then watch this great video (courtesy of YouTube user 2psfan) of Brady Toops’ grand slam home run against Wichita State from the 2004 Fayetteville Regional.  Wow!

Brady Toops’ Grand Slam Home Run

Bubbs Merrill (TipsterHog Photo)I will remember being at that game forever.  All hope seemed to be lost until Toops’ blast lifted us to victory.  Some forget that the Hogs had to go on and beat Wichita State again later that day, with now Volunteer Assistant Coach Bubbs Merrill also hitting the home run of his life to propel the Hogs into the Super Regional round.

Ever since then, when family and friends sometimes lose hope if the Hogs get behind, I like to comment “Did Brady Toops hit that home run?”  The answer is always: “Yes, he did.”  Anything is possible.

Now everything sets up great for us again…just like in 2004.  After making a nice run last week in the SEC Tournament, it seems like we’re primed to make another strong finish.  Here’s hoping for a little more “Baum Magic” this weekend.  Go Hogs!
