So after 420+ posts and 2,500+ comments — as well as over 400 original photographs, nearly 650 wire photos and thousands of news article links — our coverage of the 2006-07 Razorback athletic season has officially come to a close.
Looking back on the past 10 months, it really has been an unbelievably wild ride for fans of the Arkansas Razorbacks. It’s difficult to fathom how any other season in the future will match this year’s many highs and lows.
If you think about it, no other conference school played more major sport games this year against the other teams of the SEC than Arkansas did. Even with the disappointments, it really has been a memorable “year of the Hog.”
And it’s certainly been a lot of fun for us here at RBN, too. We’re fast approaching 160,000 site visits and that, even now, is a figure that exceeds anything we could have possibly imagined when we started up last July. As always, we just want to thank all of you again for helping make this site come alive with your participation.
Our goal continues to be that every Razorback fan who visits this site finds a least one thing each time that interests them enough that they stay for a little while to explore. Whether that’s a photo of their favorite player, or the latest recruiting news, or having a conversation with their fellow fans — whatever it is, hopefully it’s enough to make their visit worthwhile.
As for the future, we’re excited about some new site features that are coming soon. While we’re working on things, please excuse any unforeseen “glitches” as we upgrade and do some housecleaning.
In the meantime, let’s start getting ready for next season! It’s only 87 days until kickoff!
GO HOGS!

Great Job RBN! Your site is very well done. I love the original photos and the great commentary.
It has been the most amazing year for Razorback Athletics. Hog teams played in SEC championship games in all three major sports, losing all three. The historic career of Frank Broyles came to a close in just about the only way thought impossible as he was forced out. A fan based united for at least the last 50 years has been divided beyond belief during a time that could be considered at least the threshold of a new era for Razorback sports. Perhaps those are just birth pangs as we take a step upward and onward to even greater success.
So, you picked a good year to get started.
I will have to say for me though it will always be the year of the missed opportunity. I believe that in the next few years that the spread offense will take over college football for about 10 to 15 years. I am sorry that Frank and Dale didn’t see it that way. We almost had the perfect starter kit. Of course you never know. With the changing of the guard and Gus only a few miles away, perhaps in a year or two we will get a second chance.
Thanks…I appreciate yall!
It was certainly an exciting year, even with all the turmoil. The first time in SEC history that one school played for the Championship is Football, Basketball & Baseball. Granted we came up short in all of them, but I think it layed the foundation for greater things to come in the future. With the strong nucleous coming back on the Football & Basketball teams, I anticipate once again making a strong run at the title. However, it will probably be a bit of a rebuilding year in baseball.
Frank Broyles has done many things for our University and always had our best interest at heart and certainly deserves to go out with a bang and the highest praise.
Finally, with all the turmoil that was caused on the hill this year by the factions in Springdale, I hope that Tulsa is as close as they come to the U of A in the future.
Van Horn doesn’t think it will be a rebuilding year… but, he never does.
A gentle nudge — the season is not over. Both men’s and women’s track teams are at the nations this weekend, and while team titles may not be in the mix, individual national titles are.
Bill…that’s true. And, of course, we’ll continue to provide links to news articles about the track teams. We just don’t usually post about them much.
Maybe we can get regular commenter HJHog to be our “Track Blogger.”
Great job guys, it’s been interesting to say the least. Looking forward to the coverage on football and basketball next season. All of you do a great job!!
