Arkansas junior left-handed pitcher Nick Schmidt was selected with the 23rd overall pick of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft on Thursday afternoon by the San Diego Padres.
Hogwired.com: Welker, Todd Taken in Second Round of MLB Draft
Arkansas juniors Duke Welker and Jess Todd were both selected in the second round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Thursday afternoon.
Welker was taken with the 68th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Todd went with the 82nd choice by the St. Louis Cardinals.
