I MUST SAY IT WAS WEIRD TO SEE CASEY DICK THROWING TOUCHDOWN PASSESS. WHO WAS CALLING THE PLAYS, NUTT MUST HAVE BEEN TALKING TO HIS AGENT WHEN THOSE BALLS WENT FLYING IN THE AIR. WHERE \WAS THIS FOUR WEEKS AGO, IF SMU OR BAYLOR WANTS HIM BYE BYE, AND IF THEY DON’T STILL BYE BYE. LA-MONROE CAN BEAT ALABAMA AT ALABAMA BUT WE CAN’T. I AM READY FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER OF RAZORBACK FOOTBALL.

Blocking LSU won’t be quite so easy.

The Drama Queen says people are telling lies about him and it is not right.

There’s alot of things not right on the hill these days. Most of them are surrounding Nutt, and what he calls coaching philosiphy….. D-Mac right, D-Mac left, D-Mac up the middle, and finally, D-Mac comes to the sideline for a breather, while Hillis get’s the last 6 inches, all by himself. Awesome! Who cares if we beat Miss.St., at home, in another high scoring affair? It’s going to be the Tenn. game all over again, when we head down to Baton Rouge. We’ll be 7-5, unranked, confused, frustrated again, and headed to the Toilet Bowl, while still looking for the leadership that doesn’t exist, anywhere on campus. Enjoy yesterday’s win while you can fellow Hog fans, it’ll be the last thing this year we can celebrate, unless the Nutt leaves.

Before fans get too excited about outcome of the MSU game, a little reality check here:

Broyles has stated publically that Arkansas has been the victim of “bad breakss” in its losses. This time it was MSU that had the “bad breaks”. The first touchdown came when the defender fell down and the receiver was all alone in the end zone. Another TD came on a unbelievable, circus catch in the end zone by Monk with three men surrounding him. Not many can make that kind of a basketball rebounding catch. Monk’s absence has been sorely missed. A third TD came by way of another fantastic play by Robinson who not only blocked the pass but somehow caught it and rumbled in for the score. Minus those 21 points its a 31-24 game. The MSU QB gashed the Arkansas defense for huge yardage. the kid is good and has terrific acccuracy. Two of his interceptions were overthrows and were by defenders in zone coverage. The worst defensive play for the Hogs came when MSU had 4th and goal from the 20 and the QB hits the receiver right over his shoulder. No blitz, no pressure on the QB, no giving the Bulldogs all the underneath they wanted forcing the receiver to make a play to get into the end zone. What coaching, what briliance! MSU came in with a ball control run game and a stout defense. MSU had to go to the passing game because it fell behind too far and the Hogs did catch on to the run after the 1st quarter. The result was that Croom has found out that he has a good passing game and that Arkansas has a terrible pass defense.

The fan response to the game can be summed up in the failure of the wave. A number of times the fans in the West end zone started out a wave and it fizzled when it got to the 50 yard liner fans. I interpreted this as those fans being to much on the edge of their seats expecting the usual second half-4th quarter collapse. Give the Razorbacks credit they deserved the victory and they played hard. the coaching seemed better in creative play calling then in previous games. If any one had told me that the Hogs would score 45 against MSU without Felix and MSU would score 31 and not win, I would have recommended that they quit smoking the bad stuff.

One thing, and I would like others to respond to this: MSU was, of course, kicking away from McFadden and kicking to Smith. Smith did an excellent job but he is no breakaway threat like the dynamic duo. Now i have seen a similar situation where the two kick returners line up next to each other and when the hand signal goes down for the kicker to go then the two returners move to an unpredictable position for the return,, . The kicker has no idea as to which side to kick to . Maybe Houston didn’t want Darren to return kicks .because of the injury potential. As I said Smith did well, but Darren is at another level. If Felix returns then this will not be a problem. If not….?

  5. T-towner says:

IMO, the Wave was idiotic when started twenty-something years ago and it has not gotten any higher on the scale of enthusiasm creating events. It happens without regard for the action on the field and gives me an indication that many of the fans with double-digit IQ’s have gotten bored texting all their friends.

  6. GonzoHog says:

I don’t care what Nutt does after the season, just as long as he leaves the UofA. We’ve got a good nucleus to start with next year, with good QBs, WRs, and O-linemen. They will be wasted if we keep Nutt, and that’s a fact! We are rebuilding in the RB dept. next year, but as Nutt say’s, “that is what we do”. Nutt leaving, is the best we can hope for, right now.

  7. Bluffhawg says:

Can someone please explain to me why we line McFadden in the WildHog formation without motion? They did that several times Saturday and everytime the play flopped. Without the assistance of RB’s coming in motion they might as well line D-Mac in the single back set and let Casey hand it to him off tackle. Same effect!!

  8. GonzoHog says:

Because only a “Nutt” would come up with that type of formation, or philosiphy that create’s it. If that is the best position our coach can put D-Mac in, to win the Hiesman, then what else need’s to be said? It certainly isn’t helping the team win consistantly, know is it? Those are the only 2 missions this coaching staff is supposed to have. Mission failed, on both counts!! Graduation rates are important too, but we aren’t paying this guy 2.1 Mill., to make sure the kids are getting to class on time!

  9. Geaux Tigers says:

I garontee you people live in in a state of confusion. If I did not know better, I would have thought that your team lost their football game on Saturday. If comments on this blog indicate the level of arkansas football savvy, you live in a state of confusion. I garontee it. You in a funk about your coach but according to Arkansas’ record your coach is successful compared to your other football coaches. If you have not been an Arkansas fan for long, check it out using a search engine called Google and you will see what I have found out. Or up in the north countre do you not know what a search engine is? This is SEC football baby. Become a student of the game and you will understand the game. I garontee it. As they say here in highly successful tiger territory, GEAUX Tigers! Beat them Pork Chops and their football challenged fans. LSU 41. pork chops 28. We got the players BABY. You are looking at the 2007 BCS Champion LSU Tigers with their claws sticking out. We win it all. HoHum again. This winning is getting so boring. Go ahead. Say it, congratulations LSU Tigers.

  10. T-towner says:

OK, Geaux Tigers, we know that you are actually HDN taking the attention of this bonafide Nutt-roastin’ away from HDN and back to football games. BTW, who’s your HC next year? YUCK, YUCK!

  11. Gaux Tigers says:

If that happens, anyone we want and set our Tiger eyes on. That is Tiger power baby.

  12. Bluffhawg says:

gaux tigers, I think it’s about time for you to brush your tooth!!

  13. BlindHog says:

I always thought it was Geaux Tigers.

Any fan riding the kind of winning streak the tigers are on is going to be pretty arrogant. Look at the mess that Alabama has made of their program. Look at Notre Dame. The desire to return to the glory days after they are gone is powerful. Arkansas fans wouldn’t be much better with a 32-5 record in three years.

Enjoy it while you can. It is the year of the upset.

  14. GonzoHog says:

Don’t bask in the glow too much Geaux Tigers. Even great programs come and go, as BlindHog mentioned. LSU is a hot program right now, but they were a hot program before, and declined for a while, between the mid 80s and early 90s. In time, they will do it again. You don’t stay on top forever. Nobody ever does. In a normal football game, in a normal year, I would say the Tigers take this game 28-3. With the defense they have, combined with the predictable play-calling of the Hogs HC, it would only take common since to figure that one out. I really can’t see it happening any other way, but you never really know. Felix is back, and Casey has his confidence up right now, with his showing on Sat., and if the “Nutt” actually pulls out all the stops, instead of playing not to lose, something strange could actually happen in this game. They might actually make this game close, before Nutt blows it for them in the 4th qr. He will always be good for at least 1 terrible call, plus lack of disapline, under his guidance, will always make room for a bone-headed penalty, when the game is on the line.

  15. Geaux Tigers says:

The sophisticates spell it Geaux, but the rest of us spell it anyway that it comes out, but bottom line is LSU wins, and beats you. We gots the talent and will keep the talent.

Miles to Michigan? Do not be too sure abot that, but if he goes NO problem, we will get another great coach, and win with our SUPERIOR talent, yer in and year out, and see no change in that.

Alabama? Don’t sell Saban short. Give him time. He knows how to coach in college. ND coach is not proven as a head coach and the pro jobs is totally different football. I look for that coach to continue crashing. A ND fan from Indiana told me they cannot afford to fire him because they gave him so much and such a long contract. But I am not sure about that.

    GO TIGERS! EAT PORK CHOPS.
