Good quality win fellas. Coach Anderson has a very good team. That win will look good come selection time. Go Hogs Go!
What a game! This was a “barn burner”!! It was good to see a full house. It was not packed, but after this win, I expect that will change in the future.
The refs sure had quick whistles last night on both sides. What exactly did Pelfrey do to earn his most recent T? I couldn’t tell from where I was sitting.
Do you think the quick whistles stifled Mike Anderson’s team? I think they would have prefered a more open, free-flowing game with limited interference by the “zebras”. The quick whistle might have helped us out in the long run. It stopped down the “40 minutes of hell” and turned it into the “40 minutes of free throw shooting”.
I’m still worried about ball handling and turn overs. There were still too many “loose” passes and “sloppy” dribbles, but it is getting better.
Townes and Thomas where HUGE in the middle. That wasn’t “D” just being “D”, he is showing signs of improvement. Good for him! Thomas just continues to do what he does. That kid knows how to give everything he has.
Let me give you my some quick observations of last nights game.
It is obvious after last nights game Coach Pelphry does not have the players he needs to run his system. He does have better players that what Nolan had when he arrived.
The players are in phenomenal shape. You didn’t see anyone grabbing there shorts at the end of the game.
Coach Pelphry is one of the more intense coaches in the NCAA. I like just watching him coach.
The refs did a good job of calling a rag tag game. By calling it close it helped the Hogs.
This has the makings of a fun year with frustrations from time to time.
This team competes and that is improvement in and of itself. I do not believe you will see any type of meltdown like some of Stan’s teams experienced———-if they do, as the Warden in “Cool Hand Luke” said, “You get a night in the box!”———this time courtesy of Coach John!
