Talking Cotton Bowl

December 28, 2007 by TipsterHog

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by the folks over at NBCSports.com to find out if we wanted to record a blogger ’showdown’ segment as part of their site’s “Bowlnanza” coverage.  (Love the name, guys.)

NBC SportsOur very own HogBlogger participated along with Ross Taylor of the Missouri blog RockMNation.com.  You can see the video here:

Blogger Bowlnanza: Cotton Bowl

I thought the segment hosted by John Walters (a.k.a. “JDub“) was done really well.  Ross was cool and wasn’t into stirring up a bunch of trash talk.  And the trivia contest was fun, although HogBlogger is kicking himself for not remembering Ricky Williams.  We want to thank Matt at NBC Universal for inviting us to participate.

But, of course, the big thing to come out of this interview…HogBlogger is no longer anonymous!

Not to be shallow but, it is obvious that Hogblogger looks better on the radio than TV. LOL

He used the same makeup artist that Nixon used in the 60’s debate!

It’s sort of like when they found out Kramer’s first name on Seinfield. Nice job HogBlogger!

I’m beginning to here a lot of talk coming from the defensive side of the ball lately. This alway’s make’s me shake my head in disbelief when I here this. Why not just do your talking on the field? Who cares if the Tigers haven’t seen very much man-to-man coverage in the secondary? There’s a right way and a wrong way to say everything, if your worried that an already very good offense doesn’t need anymore motivation to beat your pants off! The Tigers passing offense have proven themselves all year long. The Hogs pass defense have not. It’s simlpy amazing what 1 big upset will do to your ego! Wasn’t it already bad enough that we had to here a bunch of made up BS about D-Mac and the Escalade? I can just here it now. Chase Daniels, MVP of the game, talking about how much of a match-up problem they presented for the Hog secondary, and were continually open for big plays down field, while frustrated Razorback DBs had several interference calls and personal fouls. Just when I was starting to feel pretty good about our chances, I suddenly have this sick feeling We’ll self-destruct before the end of the 3rd Qr. If we thought LSU’s recievers were tough, then it may be a rude awakening!
