I hear you, Gonzo and I agree that Hill needs to become more of a positive presence overall in Arkansas' games. However, that may be difficult for him; check out the article "Foul Play Limiting UA's Hill". While acknowledging that Hill draws too many silly fouls, Pelphrey notes that he gets fouls simply because of his size. Also, while he's started every game for the Hogs so far this year, Hill has played significantly less minutes per game. Part of that is his continuing foul trouble and part is the new scheme for the team. Hill is trying his best to do what he knows he needs to do and I was glad to read that he's very familiar with his opponent for today's game and has respect for him (while not being intimidated).

I'll be watching today's game (if its broadcast in my area; I believe it will be...) and will pay close attention to Hill's matchup. Regardless of how it works out in this game I'll be like his coach and have faith his game will elevate over the rest of the season. What can I say; I'm just an optimist where the Hogs are concerned. Hey, I even thought we could beat Missouri! Whoooppps! ;^)

Hawgfan 100, You may be right in that my assesment of Steven Hill was a little off concerning the Auburn game. Let's try it again and go a different route. He is a Sr., not to mention a 7'-0", 3 year starter. He's averaging a big whopping 2.9 RPG. Stefan Welsh is the only starter who averages less rebounds than he does at 1.7. Micheal Washington and Darian Towns also come off the bench and average more than Hill. Today, at 3:00 P.M., Hill will be matched up with, presumably, the best power forward the SEC has to offer. Pay especially close attention to this matchup. Hill has had his share of foul problems in the past, and if he play's like he has for most of the season today, look for Richard Hendrix to completely dominate inside for the Crimson Tide. I'll root for Steven, as I alway's do, but history tell's me this match-up could be a bad one for the Hogs. Hendrix is a lot like Corliss Williamson used to be at getting the offensive rebound and putting it back in the hole, while being fouled and going to the line for 3. If Steven has one of those games, where he step's up and block's numerous shots, without fouling out, and has some ally-oops on the other end, I'll gladly eat crow and call the Hogs all day long, but I still say something is wrong with Steven Hill, from what I've seen this season so far. If he's going to break out, this would be the game to do it, but if we've seen the best out of Steven that we're going to see this year, then we need to stop talking about a possible trip to the Sweet 16, like we've been doing since April. I love my Hogs, but just keeping it real brother.

They are taking on Pelphry's personality. It shows down the stretch. Look out March. Pelphry may be the real deal. I said MAY.

We won on the road. It wasn't pretty, lots to fix, but don't overlook the importance of getting a WIN on the road in the SEC for this group of seniors.

When you shoot that badly from the line, it usually is an indication that you are just plain tight-------I felt we were trying too hard not to blow it, but Beverly, Weems and Thomas all had good games. I see a lot of potential improvement and we did get the road win!

Well guys enjoy that win, cause if we keep playing like that on the road it will be our last road win. I don't think that we earned anything, we got a gift from Auburn last night. But a win is a win and I will take it.

Oh yeah, nothing is wrong with Hill, except the fact that he is slow and doesn't know what he is doing on the court.

I'm confused....

Did we just win on the road in the SEC? Hey STAN, we won a road game in the SEC!!!!! I don't care what the score is or what the free throw percentage was or anything else on this one ... not this one.

Talk about getting a monkey off your back. Did you guys see Beverly when the buzzer sounded at the end of the game. He looked like Santa Claus brought him a Nintendo Wii for Christmas!

Congrats Razorbacks, you now know what it takes to win on the road in the SEC. You have earned a stripe. We need to thank Dana Altman again for "resigning"! Pelphrey, you are the MAN!!!!!

Not a fair assessment of Hill considering all the three-pointers Auburn put up (something like 35 of them). Before the game Pelphrey said we needed our smaller guys to step up and help rebound those likely long bouncing rebounds. Many times during the game they were out-hustled or were out of position. We had trouble with Auburn's speed all game and couldn't seem to feed our big men consistently in the post.

However, we still came out of there with the win and, given our atrocious road record in the SEC over the past five years, I'll gladly take it.

Don't forget rebounding Owasso. We were giants compared to Auburn in this game, considering the players they had out for the game. You would think this would be the game that Steven Hill would dominate inside, but it still isn't happening. Auburn out rebounded us 33-32. Patrick Beverly lead the Hogs in rebounding with 8. What's wrong with this picture? I love the fact that we won our conference opener, but I just sense that something is very wrong with Steven Hill.
