TravGoBlue, I understand the "sour grapes" point of view. We had the best QB recruit this university had ever seen leave for Southern Cal last year, and believe me, there we're plenty of fans saying he was a sellout too, but to be honest and un-biased at the same time, they both made the right decision for themselves. Being in the winningest program of all time has absolutely nothing to do with Mallett's situation. He didn't ask for the coaching change or the coaching phylosiphy, Michigan did.

TravGoBlue, Mallet isn't a mobile qb so his style does not match your new coach's philosphy. Why would he stay there and be miserable. If Michigan doesn't get Pryor then I am not sure how else you could describe Michgan's football future, bleak, unless there is hidden gem there. His opportunity to get to the next level is better at a school that features a drop back passer.

Ryan Mallett is a sell-out. He left the winningest program of all time at Michigan to attend a mediocre Arkansas. And he has to sit out a year.

It is official now and I like that the fact the Youngblood and Wilson are still committed and arent' afraid of a little competition. Mallet my be the first QB since Fergerson to play on Sundays, not counting Jones cause he changed positions. Signing the Katy,Tx Running Back might ease the pain of losing DMAC and Felix, he is a burner.

We are doing it again! I will not believe it until I see the official announcement. If he was in Fayetteville wouldn't we announce that. The fact that this much time has passed tells me something is up. We ship all those at fault out of town and yet it looks like it might still be business as usual. God, I hope I'm wrong!

I’ve been talking about this scenario for months, and it rocks! Ryan Mallett used to be the ball-boy on my high school football team, he was really small back then, but the dude hit one hell of a growth spurt. Anyway, it’s nice to see him come home. I know he moved down to Texarkana, but I always felt he belonged in Fayetteville. I think it’s awesome that he has a year of practice before he has to step in here as well; it’s something I don’t believe we did enough of under HDN. Anyway, things are starting to look brighter every day.

It just keep's on getting better and better! This could possibly have an impact on our WR recruits decision making over the next 3 weeks. This definately takes some of the hurt out of the departure of Mitch Mustain. Hopefully now, we can keep on building for a strong future. GO HOGS GO!!!!!

Yes this is a coup, something the previos regime couldn't do. 2008 is going to be a rebuilding effort, but at least we know they do more than run the football up the middle.

Great news!This ought to bump up the recruiting class effective immediately. Too bad he has to sit out a year but its probably all for the best: Petrino and the team will have those 'first year growing pains' out of the way and will be ready to start making big strides in 2009. GO HOGS!!!
