I was watching this with my kids last night. What a phenonminal athlete this kid is. 4.27? Are you kidding me? What was even more amazing was the kid from East Carolina putting D-Mac in 2nd place with a 4.24. Absolutely nutts!! I haven’t seen those kind of 40 times since Dion Sanders hit the pro sceen back in the late ’80s, when these 2 kids were just babies, but there is 1 big difference. Dion weighed in at around 170lbs. D-Mac and the guy from ECU weigh in at 211 and 197. How much better is the modern day athlete going to get?

Working out with MJ will pay off ($$).

Rumor is we are trying to get out of the 2009 Texas game. Long, if your scared, say your scared. He called the 2009 schedule an “ambitious” one. He’s going to do this at the same time he is raising ticket prices?

I am very disappointed with the decision to back out of the Texas game in 2009. Who wants to come to game and watch them beat up West Carolina State or Eastern Wyoming University. I think there should be a mandate that each of the 119 BCS schools play at least two schools from another BCS conference. Could it be just about the money?

I heard Pete Carroll just visited D-mac’s baby momma house and offered the fetus a scholarship after hearing about the 40 time at the combine.

The fetus declined cause he gave a verbal to BP the day before!

I think the Texas decision is a good one. We want to play in Texas every year and by pushing back we can extend that another year. Anonymous, perhaps we should play two BCS teams but lets go play Arizona, Baylor, or NC St. A+M and Texas in the same year plus an SEC schedule is murder.
Where is the TCU series that we inked a few years ago. Is it completely gone or just pushed back?

What did we get, two players from Texas this year. Playing in Texas twice in one season will yield great dividends in recruiting. Plus, living in Texas, it would be a glorius day indeed to have bragging rights over these Longhorn and Aggie goobs in the same season.

I agree with both of you on certain points. I agree with Guinness Snout on the fact that playing 2 Texas teams will yield great dividends in recruiting in the state of Texas, but at the same time, I agree with Carolina Hog that with the combination of the SEC schedual, it’ll be murder on us. Look at what is going on with Alabama, LSU, and Florida right now. Throw in road games at Kentucky, SC and Auburn, and you have the makings of the #1 RPI schedual in the country at a time in which were slightly rebuilding our program. To be blunt, were not ready to make a run at a national tital, so why would we want to play that kind of a schedual when were not ready? We have to have some relief somewhere, and the way it’s looking, I’m not so sure Tulsa will be a push-over unless our defense does some major improving. Sure, this is the ‘08 schedual, but our major concern right now is building, not breaking our team. Playing Texas and Texas A&M in the same year, with 3 to 4 other SEC teams vying for a possible national championship run in the same year is a lot to ask for from a team that is nothing more than mediocra at best right now. How will we know were going to be able to match up with that kind of a schedual in just one year? Do we really want to pay $45 a ticket to watch our Hogs get slaughtered every week?

Would I “want to pay $45 a ticket to watch…”? Not really but I would rather pay that for quality teams vs. $35 for these “fine” teams we just finished playing!

I’ve got to admit, i’d rather be facing a murderous schedual with BP at the helm than facing a bunch of patsies with “Mr. Ole Miss Rebel” in charge. At least play-calling won’t be an issue for a change.

Actually they are playing TEXAS A&M in 2009 so that is why they didn’t want to play TEXAS as well which makes sense to me now. I just hope the replacement is an equal BCS school, especially if they want to jack the prices up. It would be cool to start a series with Missouri especailly after the Cotton Bowl showing or Oklahoma or Oklahoma State. I would even go and to a Big 10 school like Illinois or Wisconsin, makes for a good September games and the networks just love that stuff.

Also Gonzo you are correct we probably shouldn’t play too many big time schools, because this is going to be a two year growing process, hopefully they started looking at defenisive recruits for next year’s class. I think will know a little after the conclusion of spring ball. But yes at least we don’t have Nutt leading us into this process.
