I must say I thought the Hogs played a good game yesterday lead by GE. If you just looked at the swagger of this team yesterday when they went down by 19 I never thought they were in trouble thats how comfortable they looked. I think yesterday was just a case of them pretty much haveing home field advantage and just knocking down everything they shot especially that first half. I think if the same team that showed up yesterday and for the other games in the SEC tourney show up for the NCAA tourney we will be the sleeper team people start watching. Go Hogs!

I noticed that once we finally settled down and started going inside more, we would screw it up by taking an ill-advised 3 pointer. Weems did this once we got the margin down to 8, and if that wasn't enough, we didn't get the foul called on the other end, when we tried to get an offensive rebound on a miss, when they would be all over us. The refs also blew it when they called a somewhat iffy charge on us at one end, and then let an obvious charge go on Georgia on the other end. There was another time in which Townes came out farther from the paint to recieve a pass, and enstead of passing it back out, hesitated, and then tried to force a turnaround shot that was still a couple of ft. out of his normal range. Mental mistakes, along with not enough perimeter defense was the reason we couldn't overcome the bad calls. Part of that was probably the emotional and physical letdown of scoring 92 points against Tenn., in a hard fought game less than 24 hours before. Sure Georgia was fatieged, but there a better halfcourt team than we are with the kind of physical PG they have with Sundiata Gains. The Hogs not having fresh legs played right into thier hands as far as I'm concerned.

T-towner, without watching much of the game but following allow with the internet play by play, it appeared that we were out coached somewhat but also just plain out played. I'm just speechless as to how in the world we could just let Georgia out play us without making any adjustments to speak of.

Typical let down game for the Hogs. It took them 10 game minutes to figure out Georgia had enough heart to make the Hogs have to play hard. Couldn't get it done. I know this board has killed Gary Ervin much of the season, but I will tell you something, Stefan Welsh isn't any better at all. Two straight possessions just gives it away, pathetic. Too much settling for outside jumpers, especially in the first half, and typical defensive letdowns in the second half. I have to question some of the coaching calls by Pelphrey in this one. One, not enough pressing...he had much more of a depth advantage that he could have exposed. Also, he made some real bonehead substitutions by benching Townes for Hill when they really needed a bucket in the second half, and then using Welsh way too much in a game that Ervin seemed to have it together (at least for Ervin). John is young, he will learn, but they will have their hands full with IU, who I think is under seeded at an 8. Either way, if the Hogs can bring some intensity they can win b/c they can match up well in the front court. We shall see; I'll be there to root them on!

We never did press them and, as tired as they were, it would have been easy pickings. Why would John not press their pants off?

I hope finding a TRUE point guard is the top priority for recruiting. Welsh just can't do it. Not having a point guard lost the game for us today.

I think with the confusion at Indiana we can do better than "one and done." Hopefully. Pelfry will have us ready for that.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.... how are you not ready for this game? Wasn't able to watch much of this game but with such a poor start, our "coaching" was definitely not ready for this game. Indiana is going to eat our lunch... I'm calling it now, one and done. Just another repeat of last year. So much for Stan's lack of getting these guys to play... John didn't do it either!

Not one to complain much about refs, but we didn't get any help today.

Little bit of a let down after a big win against Ten.

Didn't understand why we weren't working it inside more early when shots were not falling and why Pelphry didn't call a TO to get them to work it in more. Welsh killed us in the last run with his two bonehead plays but his shooting started to come around this weekend.
