Fairchild was kicked off the team several months ago. He was just sentenced to 4 months in jail.

I have to agreed with all of you, this team could sneak up on some people only because the offense is a unknown. Petrino seems sweat the small stuff, which is very good thing. The linebacker situation is a scary thought, I haven't heard anything about Freddie Farchild, is he in school or did they kick him out of school period? That stretch of Texas, Alabama, Auburn, and Florida is a big time college football.

There was a nice feature on our middle linebacker in the DG this morning.

Redshirt Freshman, 230 lbs, converted Safety. Doesn't sound like the perfect resume but the coaches were showing him the love. You just never know.

Reports on the coaches attitudes, expectations, techniques are all very impressive. It is not like they haven't had success before. It won't be too much longer before can see for ourselves just how this is going to pan out.

I watched a little bit of the news last night on a re-run, when I got in from work. I watched the sports and they were showing Petrino going through some drills with the RBs. Talk about a coach of detail. This guy doesn't leave out a thing. You do it his way, to the letter. You probably won't see a better hands-on coach anywhere out there.

Barring any injuries the Hogs will surprise alot of folks,some of HDN best teams took the field not ready to play,win or lose this team will be ready every game.

We are too young, too small, too thin, at linebacker. It will be interesting to see what happens, I hope. There is no denying we could use a big, fast headhunter on the inside and a few more senior enforcers on the outside. In another year or two we may grow and recruit some. It is hard to play defence in the SEC without them.

I do think that they will improve for the second half. It could be the old Houston Nutt scenerio of a slow start and a fantastic finish. Texas, Alabama, Florida, Auburn is a tough stretch. We will know all there is to know after that. If there is a linebacker left standing he should be ready to go for the second half. What we all hope is that we can outscore one or two of those teams. But, it may not be.

I feel good about our DBs, even though they are still somewhat of a ? I've noticed we could have a little more depth there than I origionally thought. Ramon Broadway hasn't pushed his was to the top of the depth chart yet, but he still lead's the defense in interceptions in practice to this point. Darrell Glasper has also caught the attention of Petrino. There could be as much improvement at DB as there is on the offensive side of the ball. Coach Ward has been a proven winner everywhere he's been, so the DBs could be a pleasent suprise this year. Elton Ford, and Jerico Nelson could suprise a few folks this season. LB is a big concern. Not only are we young, inexsperienced, and thin, we are also small overall. Our biggest LBs are Franklin and Wright, and they are both Freshmen.

You can't not be concerned. With our back 7 you just have to wait and see what kind of scheme they use to put these guys in a position to succeed. We may have to win them all 51-49. The Tulsa game may be 85-84 and pick'em.

Not being one-demensional will mean everything when it come's to opposing defenses. We'll see guys step up this year that would have barely even played with the old regime still intact. Offensive philosiphy will stand out over everything. Defense is really what my main concern is.

We are about to see what real coaching can do.

These guys are throwbacks to old Bear Bryant, Wilson Matthews types. They don't put the best 11 on the field. They put the toughest 11 on the field.

It's supposed to be fun. And, it will be. These guys are going to love it. And, so will we.

Pete…perhaps I should have said "37th place" instead of "ranked 37th." I was mainly just repeating something Bob Holt wrote in Sunday's Democrat-Gazette.

I think the Razorbacks are going to be better than advertised and will hopefully surprise some folks – starting with UT in Austin. I also believe that the defense will get much better, playing against BP's offensive schemes and philosophy every day in practice. Ones against ones can only help.

Be patient Razorback fans, in two to three years, the Hogs will be in the [national] hunt.

It only matters how they look at it after the season anyhow. Anything right now is nothing more than mere conjecture. (Political BS) I'll be interested in hearing what they say after the season. We have good players on this team the old coaches didn't know how to utilize.

No, it doesn't. There are no places beyond 25th because, given the number of votes allotted to each voter, there's no way to determine anything beyond that.

For example: if Team A was the first "other team receiving votes" and Team B was the second, and only two points separated them, it's easy to see that if the ballot was extended to 26 places, and all of the voters placed Team B at #26, they would be #26 by a fairly large margin.
