Update 10/26/08 8:40 a.m.

I never yelled so much at a game.
Initial thoughts.
Never seen one player "#24" let down a defense so much with his play. Wow, when he wasn't falling down he was facing his receiver without ever looking at the ball.
I am big critic of London Crawford, but thought finally he did something and he gets called on invisible interference by the ref not even closest to the play.
Kudos to Michael for continuing to be a warrior. Welcome back DJ after last week when it appeared as though you disappeared. Am excited about Childs and his ability to go for the jump ball. He is far more agressive at going to the ball than London. Was disappointed Joe Adams was not in the game more.
Too bad Tyler has mono.
"gets called on invisible interference by the ref not even closest to the play."
Was wondering about this (difficult to tell while keeping up with the game on the internet but sure felt like one of those calls the Hogs are subjected to on a routine basis). Does anyone have any video of the play?
All I am gonna say is atleast we found our passing game again.
We aren't going to change much this year. Too young and too thin. But we do get a bit better each week. The defense stood up this week better than I expected. I doubt it will be enough for Tulsa, but they may surprise me. They could so easily be 5-3, I hate to see them miss a bowl.
But,
The best thing about this game? It reminded me how glad I am that I don't have to watch Nuttball every week.
Nutt inherited a team that everyone says has the most talent that ole miss has had in several years. Petrino inherited a team that had to start true freshmen all over the field. There is only one game difference in our records and we played them to within 2 points.
Write this season off as a year of adjustment and learning. With the QB we have waiting in the wings and some of the corners who have committed, I see a huge improvement in our record in the coming years.
I hate to say the Ref's controlled the out come of the game, but in this instance they clearly did. When they almost tried to give Ole Miss the ball when we clearly recovered the on side kick I knew they were up to no good. Then for the ref who was completely out of the play to make that call…. not cool. I do think the other ref should of manned up and over ruled him, but I guess they can discuss it over Thanksgiving Dinner at the Nutt's house in a few weeks. If I had to compare it to anything I would say it was like a basketball player throwing up a prayer shot and when a defensive player slightly bumps him the officials make the call. In this case we were the defensive player and it was our team that got screwed
Disappointing, but again, as BlindHog said, we are young and thin this year, and that's just something were going to have to accept.
It hurts losing to the Nutt, but prove's nothing, accept what we already knew about both teams and both coaches.
Petrino is coaching with what he has; A half full deck of cards.
Nutt is coaching the way he alway's has, full deck or not; conservative.
When Ole Nutty went back to his old ways of trying to sit on the ball in the 4th qr, it back-fired on him, as it has done on him many times before, while the other team (the Hogs this time) step's up thier attempt to pull the game close with a well coached 2 minute drill.
If that interference call goes against the Rebs, instead of the Hogs, like it did last year in Tuscaloosa, those two games would have almost been a mirror image of each other.
Once again, Ole Nutty was out not to lose, and was sucsessful this time.
What's gonna happen when he has to play a good Razorback team?
You had better enjoy this one Houston.
