This is encouraging. Hog teams of the recent past always seemed to have a lot of trouble with these types of opponents. Out-hustling and out-smarting us most of the time.
How many times did we see exsperienced guys like Hill and Thomas play a pace they were comfortable with, block a ton of shots, rip down a ton of rebounds, then the very next game play someone disiplined and well coached, who’s style of play was the opposite, come up with 1 block, 2 rebounds, and then foul out?
This may very well be the youngest team to put on the Razorback unifom, but from what I see at this very early stage, is that we may be very coachable.
Fortson is the type of PG who will always get his assist. There may be a higher rate of turnovers early in his first year, but I fully exspect that to change in time. He is a true competiter.
Clarke’s shot may have an off-game from time to time, but when it is, it looks as if the rebounding and second chances will always be there with guys like Sanchez and Washington in the front-court.
For such a young team, I think they show a lot of promise.
GO HOGS!!!!!
