Any road victory is a good one! Pulled this one off in the final seconds as a mirror image of what was done in the previous lost.
My cable system doesn’t carry CSS, and I fell asleep while listening to the game, believe it or not, (I was so tired) and I actually missed the last 4 minutes of the game.
I just now found out the score, after thinking they probably lost.
This is great news! I was very doubtful this young team could pull out a win like that on the road.
South Alabama is no powerhouse, but still good enough to be a test, on the road, for this years team.
This is a good sign. We had more exsperienced teams in close games like this, over the past few years, and the result was finding a way to lose.
GO HOGS GO!!!!!
I think it’s awesome that we’re getting this kind of play out of our guards.
Fortson is everything as advertised as a true PG, but it’s a bonus that he’s turned out to be a pretty good 3 pt. shooter as well.
Clarke is everything as advertised as a 3 pt shooter, and seems to handle the ball pretty well too.
Welsh turned out to be pretty consistant, as a 3 pt. shooter, in the latter part of last season, so he seems to be picking up where he left off.
The fact that he stayed at the UofA this summer, enstead of going home, to help provide some leadership for these young guys and work on his game, says a lot for this young man.
Washington also hung around, and beefed himself up to 239 lbs. in the weight room, and Sanchez can be a beast on the boards, which he’s already prooving.
Clark and Moore have a lot of physical maturing to do, before they can be relied on to produce inside, but it will come.
I still don’t know what kind of players McDonald and Henry are going to be, especially Henry, since he’s already been in Pel’s doghouse twice, so the jury is still out on those guys.
I still don’t look for the Hogs to have that good of a record this year, but I think they will be suprisingly competitive.
