Game Predictions — Mississippi State
November 20, 2008 by TipsterHog
Congratulations to Arch_Hog for the closest prediction last time of 30-24. His quote: “Old School vs. New School.” Yep…I’d certainly agree with you that the Gamecocks ’schooled’ us, Arch.
Speaking of school…you may have noticed that some of the RazorBloggers have been taking a little be of a ‘fall break.’ Unfortunately, as the saying goes, ‘real life’ has been intervening. Thanks to Sunshine and HogBlogger for carrying the site lately. We’ll all hopefully be back to our usual volume of posts here at RBN very soon.
So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: Despite having won the last nine meetings with MSU, historically the Razorbacks have not played well in Starkville. But the Hogs still make it 10 in a row and keep bowl hopes alive for at least one more week. Arkansas 23, Mississippi State 17.
HogBaller: The Razorbacks need both Dicks in order to beat the Bulldogs and move one step closer to bowl eligibility. Casey starts…but Nathan comes in to give the offense a boost. The Hogs win a close one in Starkville. Arkansas 28, Mississippi State 24.
HogBlogger: Mississippi State’s year is already over. That, plus giving Bobby Petrino two weeks to prepare for their defense, will be hard to overcome. The Hogs get back on the road to improvement. Arkansas 31, Mississippi State 17.
TipsterHog: The Dogs lick their wounds from the ‘Bama game and lay in wait for the Rebs next week. Arkansas 24, Mississippi State 13.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “What…not televised? Seriously?” or “Don’t stop believin’ now. Hogs roll.”

Sly and the dogs don’t have enough to stop NATHAN DICK! Yes I also predict Nathan gets his first carrier start.
Hogs 27
MSU 10
Hogs 35-13… Nathan plays significant time with mixed results.
UA 21
MSU 10
Nothing to see here, move along.
One game closer to a bowl
Hogs 24
Dogs 17
Maybe a squeaker?

MSU: 21
Despite their record Dogs have a formidible defense epecially against the pass. Fortunately, the MSU offense is terrible. I saw last year’s game and was realy impressed with Carrol, the MSU QB, who burned the Hogs for a lot of yardage. Now it seems that Carrol has been replaced by Tyson Lee. Lee could present problems for the Hogs because, in spite of his lack of size, he is remarkably elusive. He had the Bama lineman chasing him all over the place and seemingly not being able to catch him. I don’t think that the Hogs have enough firepower in the red zone to score many points, but then the Dogs don’t either. A major intangible here is that next week is the Ole Miss rival game for MSU and Croom could salvage something out of the season with a victory over the Rebs. Croom runs the danger of not getting, or his team not getting, intensity for both games. In other words, the Dogs maybe looking ahead because, at this juncture, a victory over Ole Miss would mean muuh more than a victory over Arkansas. But the Dopgs are playing at home, which is another intangible. Theoretically Arkansas should be up for this one since it would put them in reach of bowl eligibility. But not much scoring and a lot will depend on which team makes the fewest critical mistakes.
Hogs 16
Dogs 10
I think Casey will start, but Nathan will play significantly. No matter which one is out there, the offense will work just fine.
Hogs 35
MSU 20
What to pick, what to pick? Let’s see, Auburn won 3-2, so if we multiply the results on both sides of the ball by ten, that’s:
Hogs 30
Dogs 20
Scientific, huh?
HOGS 31
dogs 10
Big Dick #11 gives way to Little Dick #10 and the HOGS refuse to get Croomed. Miss St.’s offense, or lack there of, will give our D a big boost of confidence going into next weeks game. Sniff… Sniff…. I smell a mediocre bowl comming
Hogs 21
Dogs 17
Croom gets egg on his face…HOGS 20, DOGS 7
Hogs offense show’s some rediness after 2 weeks of practice, while the Dogs defense is fresh off a ‘Bama bruising.
Hogs also get a little extra time to get Dick #1 and the second coming of “mighty mouse” (Smith) healed. Dick #2 will also be ready when needed.
Hogs will roll!
TUSK - 24, puppys - 10
Nathan exposes the true potential of a Petrino offense and sets up a showdown CBS can love. MSU in Starkville is never a problem again.
Arkansas 31-17
Force = mass * acceleration * X
where X = Michael Smith
Mess that Jackie left - 5
Fighting Dicks - 23
Little Piggie that could 14
Little doggie that couldn’t 9
Hogs 24
Dogs 10
No Dick or fart joke here. Hogs win 28-20.
Hogs 14
Dogs 17
Another could have been, should have been but wasn’t. We get out toughed and the illegal cow bells ring long and loud.
“Thank god for Mississippi…State”
We still have a chance at a bowl - 27
We dont - 14
Casey always has a big game against MSU - maybe it runs in the family too:
Hogs 42
Dogs 14
I frankly have no idea what could happen… but I know it won’t be this:
Hogs 11
Dogs 10
Hogs will not make it 10 in a row against MSU.
Dogs 21
Hogs 13
Re LSU game… ~~~>”Showdown CBS can love”… LOL, now THAT was funny!!
Hogs seem to have the ability to steal defeat from the jaws of victory on the road…… may show some rust with the time off…. Fortunately, MSU is awful….EPIC battle of 1-5 Cellar Dwellars….
2 or less turnovers for the Hogs…. HOGS 24 CrOOmstahs 13
2 or more turnovers for the Hogs…. CrOOmstahs 24 Hogs 20
Should be a win for the rested HOGS - Hogs prove Miss St. is worst in SEC
HOGS 27
MS DOGS 17
