Game Predictions — South Carolina

Congratulations to Mike in Magnolia for the closest prediction last week of 26-24. His quote: “Okay…I’ve only been close one time since last year.” Make that two times now, Mike. Nice job.
And actually, Mike wasn’t the only one close last week…so were several others. Remember that our contest rules break ties with a random drawing. While the folks at Carpenter Clothing Co. have provided us with some great RBN t-shirts, as the old saying goes…supplies are limited. (Hmmm…now that Arkansas is going to have a lottery, maybe we should start using ping pong balls to pick a winner!)
So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: The Hogs catch the Gamecocks in a good spot here…right after Tennessee and right before Florida. A 4-5 Arkansas team would seem little more than a road bump for a USC squad that is headed for eight wins. Garcia and Smelley help us, and the Hogs take advantage. Arkansas 24, South Carolina 21.
HogBaller: The Hogs pull off the upset in another close one. Arkansas 21, South Carolina 17.
HogBlogger: It’s another tough battle and the Hogs hang tough…but the team with the best defense will win. South Carolina 23, Arkansas 20.
TipsterHog: Amazingly, winning two out of the last three means going to a bowl game for this young Razorback team.  But with this game in Columbia against a tough defense, you have to figure their best chance to do that is winning at Starkville and then in the ‘Rock against LSU. South Carolina 28, Arkansas 17.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “NFL is the abbreviation for ‘Not For Long’…isn’t it?” or “Insert Smelley ‘Cock joke here. Hogs roll.”

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Hogs win 31-17… Bobby changes the playbook and SC doesn’t get a clue until too late! Go Hogs!!!
USC-E 21
Good guys 17
Our D is banged up and our offense still doesn’t quite get it done. These hogs have yet to have that game where it all goes right (last week looked for a while to be that game). Hopefully I’m wrong and this is the week. Go Hogs
Old school vs. New school…
Hogs-24
Cocks-30
There’s nothing I hate worse than predicting a loss for the Hogs.
SCs defense is pretty tough. They remind me a lot of ‘Bama, with their big, strong LBs.
Also, home field advantage is usually good for another TD.
The Gamecocks have been gradually improving like the Hogs, but this is the SEC, and this teams only win on the road, is against a team who has gradually fell apart this season.
I’d like to go with the Hogs, but I have a feeling it’ll be……. Gamecocks 17 – Hogs 14.
Hogs: 23
Gamecocks: 27
Another heartbreaker for the hogs.
Field goals of games gone by turn into touchdowns:
Arkansas 28 USC 17
Hogs 34 SC 28
Hogs pick up fumble with 1 minute to play run it in- Victorwa
The Hogs’ Dick stands up to the mighty Cocks’ defense.
Oh Lordy, I will miss this next year, Casey if anything we love you because of your last name.
Hogs 34
Cocks 17
Like to do more than get close this time (but the Hogs won’t; this will be a nail-biter but Tejada comes thru in the end)
Hogs-31
USC-28
Another close game and more growing pains for the Hogs. An untimely interception by the Gamecocks seals the game.
The team coached by the man who didn’t have McFadden in the top 3 on his Heisman ballot even though McFadden rushed for 17,327 yards in 2 years agains his team alone 24
Hogs 14
HOGS- 24
USC-East- 17
The HOGS finally unite as one and settle for Touchdowns instead of Field Goals. I am confident that Head Coach Bobby Petrino will use our Dick to confuse all Cocks by utilizing the Tight Ends to score at will.
I don’t think they respect us; always a big mistake in the SEC. Florida on their mind, it’s not as tough as it should be.
Arkansas 27-17
Intangibles: Best bet for Hogs is for Spurrier to be looking toward Florida and Clemson and overlook the Hogs. The Hogs now know how to win, but can they score enough points to beat USCarolina. Hopefully, yes. Hogs 21 Gamecocks 17. . .
I’m thrilled about last weeks prediction. This is the first thing I have ever won. After this win if I wasn’t a Baptist preacher I would probibly buy a new lottery tickett…..Just kidding
Well Here is goes!
Hogs 29
Game Cocks 21
Hogs 34
Gamecocks 28
Hogs 27
Gamecocks 24
Spurrier overreaches and Hogs capitalize!
USC-E 24
Hogs 20
Close again but we lose at the end.
no witty genitalia-related comments for me
University of Arkansas Razorbacks 22
USC (trademark denied) 20
30 – 20 Hogs win.
Ole Ball Coach 35 SS
New Ball Coach 14 BP
Defense proves again we have no redzone attack.
23 – 17 Hogs
Tejada gets three more FGs, Mike Smith busts a long one and Casey picks up a TD pass to Lucas Miller.
Game cocks get left hanging in the wind. Hogs will pull this one out in the third quarter.
Final Score
Hogs 27
Worst name Mascots 10
Come on Hogs make me proud!!!!!!
Guys,
We haven’t scored 30 pts. all year. I don’t see it happening against the best D in the conference. Having said that, after reading quotes from SC players I think Michael Smith is going to have a huge game. They are talking a lot about McFadden as if our running game is in the past. I won’t change my prediction but the more I see from the SC side the better I feel. I think we are being overlooked.
Ugh… where were you last week? Can you say Tulsa? 30-23… yes, we DID score 30! (but I do get your point that we just haven’t scored enough).
UA 10
SC 23
Can Casey Dick win SEC offensive player of the week against an SEC defense? Doubt it.
Defense, schmefense, Hogs roll 49-13
Hogs keep up the good play and pull out a big SEC win.
Hogs – 24
Gamecocks – 20
Hogs run out of steam. Cocks build on momentum from last week.
Half-cocked cocks: 31
Spent Hogs: 12
SC DEFENSE is good, but who have they played?
Hogs – 20
Cocks – 17
Cocks: 22
Dicks with no Nutts: 20
Casey’s arm is too sore for 300+. We lose on a safety in OT.
A safety in OT? Wow – now that’s a sack! I can’t imagine losing 75 yards and getting sacked in our end-zone.
I hope the Hogs prove me wrong, but I’m trying to win a shirt.
Peckers – 20
Pigs – 16
The hogs finally come through, one away from a bowl game.
Hogs 24
SC – 21
