They are making some progress, but 12 turnovers from Fortson and Welsh along with ice cold perimeter shooting is tough to overcome. I realy think that Henry and Britt need to be in more than Clarke till he can work through his slump. If he isn’t scoring points, he doesn’t need to be in there.

The Hogs could take a lesson from the Gator half-court offense. Instead of relying on Fortson to completely run the show and be responsible for creating almost 90% of the plays, they could move the ball quikly and consistantly around the perimeter to find the open 3 pt shot.

This is an area the Gators are very good at to go along with their constant half-court defense, which just happens to contest almost every single shot.

Their full-court press isn’t bad either, but was helped along almost as much by the Hogs inability to come back and help their man inbounding the ball.

It’s not like they haven’t seen this before, since Texas was pretty good at it too, so I’m a little suprised they got caught doing it so many times.

Auburn is up next at home, and the Hogs still have plenty to work on.

I will say this though. They were still improved compared to the Ole Miss game.

The first half wasn’t too shabby at all, but the focus coming back out into the 2nd half was pretty disappointing.

When is the last time we were able to execute a half-court offense? Eddie Sutton?

I think there needs to be a line-up shake up. Let Monk start at the PF and Britt at one of the guards. Then bring Sanchez and Welsh/ Clarke off the bench.

It’s the football season all over again.

We are too young, somewhat talented but too thin in important ways. Michael Washington is wonderful but he has no backup. All of the youngsters will be good in time. Their first trip thru the SEC has got to be a bit of a surprise.

Hopefully, if they can get their feet under them we will see them right the ship and give us a few thrills along the way. If they don’t do it soon, we will be looking at the NIT.
