    My favorite quote from recruiting:

"You don't want to hear the verbiage I'd use, but to be politically correct, the heck with everybody else. This is us," Robinson said. "This is Arkansas, so we're not going to take a backseat to anybody."

Kinda reminds me of the 'We Are Marshall' chant…I love it (especially that no backseat to anybody part). GO HOGS!!!

My Aggie neighbor commented that it looked like we had a very similar recruiting class. A&M was ranked #3 in the Big 12, Arkansas #6-9 in the SEC (Orlando paper had us at #9 in the SEC). Playing in the SEC, we've got a tough row to hoe, but this should be one of the most talented classes BP has ever had to work with in the collegiate ranks.

Lots of 6'5" + and 290#+ guys. Depending on who wins the QB battle, Wilson may have to call Tebow to get tips on throwing the "jump pass"

(Lost our DB coach during recruiting season and still had #1 DB class in the nation)

If the Arkansas's key signees make it to campus this year, the class will be equal to those ranked above because of coaching. I am not impressed with some of the coaches whose teams are ranked above Arkansas. Take Carroll for instance, he always has a top-rated class but seems to sometimes have a problem putting it all together. If Carrol had SEC competition each season his team would not appear as good as it sometimes does because of a lack of motivation. He has top talent but they do not appear motivated in many important games. If he was a great motivator, he might never get beat. Then last year he lost to a lesser opponent on the road, as he seems to have a propensity to do. His motivational skills are questionable, although his recruiting skills as far as the stars go are impecable but fortunately it does not end there. Talent matters but only if you can mesh it together and keep it motivated. I think Petrino is able to do that…so give him another year and the Hogs should be ranked high. It appears that he has signed some good defenders to go with his top two years of offensive talent. His mathematical skills come to the fore in preparing his teams. He totally changed the systems and it is taking him some time to get it going. We should see vast improvement next season but we have to remember much of his team is young. Where that hurts the most is in the line…not the skill positions. It will be interesting to see what Mallett adds to the equation.
