I don't believe Notre Dame could lure Meyer away from the clenches of Florida. What would he have to gain by it?
Sure, they're going to offer him more money than Florida can, but would it really be enough to make that big of a difference?
ND is not the juggernaut of college football it once was, nor are top recruits so inclined to drop everything and pack up to leave home for 4 years of college life in the state of Indiana.
Florida is the king state of football in all the land. Meyer has it too good there to start all over again with a rich, has-been program.
If Meyer makes another jump, look for it to be in the NFL.
Also, I believe Kiffin will be good enough at Tennessee to keep the Vols away from Fayetteville.

Getting back to the poll, can you believe the "Nutts" in Oxford actually believe their that good?

No, Georgia is probably a stretch. We need to hope that Kiffin can stumble along for a while and that Meyer doesn't leave for Notre Dame after his third title.

Can't go to a West team or what? That would really set my paranoia at ease if that's enforceable. Richt's seat is getting warm, but I don't think the state of Ga. would take Bobby P. back.

Bobby's big buy out ends after 5 years. But, he has a Nutt clause in his contract. He can't go to an SEC west team. If he wants to stay in the SEC he is going to have to go to Florida, Georgia, or Tenn.

Golf,
I agree. I thought that when we beat LSU last year it was a statement that it would be us and Alabama at the top of the West. I do think LSU has slipped a bit, a point that was clouded by their Nat'l Championship. When was the last time any team lost 2 games and won the BCS, much less lost their last game of the year to an unranked team and won the BCS. Without that Championship, the seat gets much hotter for Miles probably to the point of it all coming down to this year. Miles leaving may not be good for us, though. I think that LSU is one of the few programs in the country that could lure BP away. He wants to be in the SEC and there aren't many attractive options in the conference. For this reason, I am pulling for MIchigan because if they run Rich Rod off, Miles will beat the posse out of town to Michigan, and LSU will send a plane to Fayetteville. Anybody know the buyout for Petrino? I know it declines every year.

That is a long trip from cajun country, I'll grant you. Still, first game of the season, against a PAC-10 team, with Vandy coming up; they did not impress. It just seems to be the LSU legacy to play down to their opponent and then below. Saban brought the pride back and Miles has begun to let it slip. I have a feeling this is the beginning of the end for him. We shall see.

Golf, I was disappointed with LSU last week. They looked sluggish in their 31-23 win over a Washington team that went 0-12 last year. Offense not sharp, and John Chavis' defense didn't bring the pressure I thought they might.

Because of the length of that trip, I'm willing to cut them a little slack, but if they look the same against Vandy this week, they'll be sliding down accordingly next week.

LSU seems a bit high. Of course we expect you to rank our Hogs. Maybe more will follow suit with a good win over Georgia.
