Wow a lot of people being hard on the Hogs after they put everything they had into this. They showed nothing but heart.

I see a few are already going after his play calling. Really? Get out. Thats just plain ignorant. He dialed up a ton of plays that could have won us that game. Mallett and the WR did not execute many of them. We had our chances to win that game on passes, kicks.

The refs were awful. But really? Do fans really turn on their team when they go to the wire with the #1 team in the land. Come on. You do better and then you have the right. These kids are getting better every week and literally gave everything they had. It is not right to bash them. These cross comments towards them are dissapointing me more than the loss yesterday.

Yeah, the Gators had plenty of home cookin' in the swamp. We got a bit against Auburn. On the road you've got to beat the team and the officials. When the team is Number One Florida and the SEC has a One/Two match up in the title game then the officials will make sure that they make no call that could be 'wrong' against the gators. We got hosed. And, we had several chances to bury them 30-10. We are still a young team and we should have beaten the number one team in one of the toughest places to play in America.

Yep, we have arrived a year ahead of schedule. The impossible part of our schedule is past. Only Ole Miss and South Carolina remain. If we play like we did on Saturday we are looking at 9-3 and either the Cotton or the Capitol One and a top 10 ranking to start next year.

Bobby Petrino IS the man. So is Willy. So is Ryan Mallet, Dennis Johnson (only a soph), and on and on. We are young, loaded, headed for a great recruiting class. That's what you get when you beat Florida in the Swamp.

We did.

About the referring: Some nuances that might have been missed. The call on Sheppard may also been an attempt to intimidate the young man into losing his cool and arguing with the ref therefore compounding it into a double foul with even more penalty yardage and perhaps even ending with Sheppard being thrown out of the game (remember Frankin in the Alabama game). I have seen such referring as a basketall coach. Another item, it looked as if the referee had called the TD before Childs had crossed the goal line as he was being stripped. Although every call is being reviewed that certainly made sure it would have been had the Gators recovered in the end zone. Which brings up as to whether anyone knows the rules. Help me out here. If a runner fumbles into the endzone is that an automatic touchback or can the offense recover the fumble for a TD? There is an issue of deliberately fumbling into the end zone which was previously part of the ND playbook. Not that any intelligent player woud do it but can a defensive player pick up the fumble and try to run it back? The anouncers didn't help and weren't sure about Child's recovery being a TD, if the the ball hadn't crossed the goal before the strip. Hmm. Similar confusion occured in the Texas-Oklahoma game. A Texas player picked up an obvious fumble and ran it to the goal line and was stripped before he went in. The ball crossed the right side of the pylon as it went out, which meant that the fumble was never in the end zone and the ball should have been placed at the six inch line. The refs and the announcers seemed totally confused and it was finally called a "muff" which killed it at the point of recovery. I asked my football playing grandson to explain and and it seemed that there was no way that the fumble was a "muff". Do any of these Zebras know what they're doing? There was no excuse to not knowing this pylon business because of last year's Michigan-Michigan State game. A Mchigan reciever came down on the pylon and the refs ruled a touchdown. Even the announcers knew that the pylon was part of the sideline and touching it was out of bounds. After the game the Big Ten admitted the officials were wrong. But the game was at Michigan....Hmm. Shouldn't there be some examination for the zebras to know if they know what the hell they are doing? It is hard not to believe that the refs were favoring Florida, and that they were closely watching Sheppard for anything they could call. But considering how much money the SEC would lose if they don't have a team in the BCS championship game it could mean protecting the unbeatens when the circumstance demands it. What other explanation, other than incompetence, explains Sasturday's referring debacle? Here's an idea for a video. All of the bonehead calls and non calls from SEC officials during the season. (Example: Wasn't there recent SEC game where there was a really, really obvious pass interference on a razorback receiver with the ref standing there looking right straight at it and there was no call?)

I'm a Georgia fan and I have to say that the same officials who rooked us against LSU rooked Arkansas yesterday. The pass interference was ridiculous as was the no call offensive pass interference that should have gone against Florida. But the most blatant was the call on your defensive lineman who leveled the Florida player who was about to hit him. He then gave a very understated fist pump. Ridiculous call. My son saw the whole game and he said Tebow had multiple things he could have been called for. The refs were protecting Florida. Y'all ought to call the league office and complain loudly.

Yesterday's game was ridiculous. The officiating was horrible, obviously protecting the Gators so the SEC can continue to have 1-2 ranked teams in the nation. Sure, the Hogs left points on the board, but how could the officials seriously justify the pass interference on Broadway, the personal foul on teh final drive,a block below the knees on a defense of a kickoff (how often have you seen that?), and no offensive pass intereference on Cooper when Stewart had the interception.

I'll even give the officials all the missed holding calls where Florida's linemen were dragging our D-line to the ground when we blew past them. Sheesh, it was unbeleivable.

All that said, the Hogs are for real. The defense totally dominated the #1 team in the nation, and the offense found some form in the second half. I know we wanted the win, but we told the nation that the Hogs have arrived. And our guys are just sophmores!!!

I think we're almost there.
I believe if 3 calls had been called correctly yesterday, the outcome may have been different.
(1) The B. Cleveland holding call that erased the TD by B. Green.
(2) The defensive interference call on R. Broadway, that should have been either called on the WR or just let go as a no-call.
(3) What kind of a lame-brain can actually make a call on M. Shepperd for a PF for doing absolutely nothing but defending himself against a Gator O-lineman? Pitiful, to say the least, especially with the game on the line on Florida's last drive.
I don't want to wallow in sour grapes, but facts are facts.

I think we gained a lot of confidence in this game yesterday, and set ourselves up to be even more hungry going into Oxford next week. I wouldn't want to be Hootie and Ole Miss right now.
Everything happens for a reason, and just possibly this loss keeps us focused for Ole Miss, compared to possibly having a letdown slip up on us had we beaten the Gators. Just a thought.
Looking foeward to that game very much.

If Mallett's execution ever catches up with his ego, he'll be fantastic.

Until he becomes the next Tebow, it's probably best keep his mouth shut and not diss his receivers. Average is a generous description of Mallett's play yesterday.

This game really takes me back. Way back to the SWC. I cannot recall a more poorly officiated game since we joined the SEC. Even Gary Danielson, who seems to have anti-Hog bias, called out the officials a couple of times. Nonetheless, Mallett had some terrible misses and Tejada needs to retire.

Its truly unfortunate you didn't get them to state (you know, while they're so 'talkative') what the going rate for SEC refs is...I'm especially interested since today's price should reflect appropriate 'enhancements' in the rate for potential SEC Championship and National Championship appearances.

Besides the last few calls by the refs and Tejada, I'm damn proud of our team. I keep getting upset with the loss, but only because I know how close we came to winning. There's a few people on other sites, probably from florida, that keep mocking us razorback fans for being so upset about losing, but come on they know if they were in our position they would be pretty upset right now. But I'm proud of team!

Well, on second thought, don't put it down. After all, you WERE right about the refs. ;^)
