A slight improvement over this year's schedule but we still need to move that Texas A&M contest up a couple of games.
Are you kidding, this is huge!!
After GA, Bama, you have an open slate all the way to S. Carolina. This is a top ten schedule. If you beat Bama you are top 5.
…for what it's worth…
I sure hope the advice Ryan Mallet gets after the season (and let's hope his personal situation allows him a free decision) is several fold:
1) You only get to experience each phase of your life once – Enjoy College life! The NFL and all its trimmings will be there after graduation. Lloyd's of London is there to take care of any concerns. …for reference on how important staying in the program is to the program, see: Tebow, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, etc.
2) The impact to the Razorback family he can have is immeasurable. Right now this Program, this School, this State could really use the rallying point.
3) Next season: Win a couple of huge tests early against Georgia and Bama and it is not a stretch to see Mallet and company lead this team to the BCS. The schedule sets up to support it.
4) If not the frontrunner, absolutely in the top three for the Heisman next year.
5) And God help the rest of the college football world if Ryan and crew stay in school through all their eligibility. The lovefest in the state would be unparalleled.

A time we have all been waiting for. What a blessing to have a team assembled like this.
The possibilities for a great season are there.
Georgia is away, but their back to square one at the QB position again
next season.
'Bama will be dominant once again, but we'll have a chance against them at home.
Auburn will be tough on the road with Malzhan in his second year, but the Hogs offense may be unstoppable by that time.
All in all, I think we have a great chance for a breakout season.
Biggest reason for Mallet to stay is PR. Despite this year's performance he is still under the radar with the general public. Consider that 5 touchdown passes didn't get Mallet any real national exposure. If Mallet continues to shine in the next two games, he will be a Heisman candidate from the getgo next year. Win the next two games and he will be a coverboy for some of the football magazines. All of this means big bucks for Ryan if he stays. Skill wise he still needs to work on his short game and 3rd down conversions. Also, his decision making still could improve. He sometimes throws to receivers who are covered and passes up those who are wide open. With the time he's getting he should be able to carve up defenses like crazy. So far he has made wise choices: First avoiding Nutt and then going to Michigan (Rodriquez is probably kicking himself for not trying to keep him). Second was his coming to Arkansas to play for Petrino and his wide open pro type offense. Also he is in the backyard of the poster boy for bad decisions: Mitch Mustain. Added to this is his ego (I want the 6th TD coach) and the chance to become the best player ever at his school, similar to Tebow at Florida. I am sure Ryan's parents are enjoying the college game atmosphere and the local attention their son's getting and would probably advise him to go only when he's sure he's ready. The pro teams would probably like to see more of him before risking a high draft choice. The campaign for Ryan to go seems to be orchestrated by SEC coaches and their media outlets, although the SEC itself would love to have him stick around. Overall, I would be stunned if he made himself eligible for the draft.
A last thought on Ryan's staying: Mallet could be around for the next two years, if Arkansas becomes capable of winning the National Championship or at least the SEC championship. All of the aforementioned QBs that have stayed have some things in common regarding remaining in college, the most important of which is that they are from economically comfortable families where money is not necessarily a prime object. Disadvanteged black kids have a different attitude. It's hard for them to pass up something they never had or had only a little of.
Money Money Money.
There are unique circumstances around why financially this year is better than next.
Sam Bradford staying an extra year ended up being a horrible decision.
Both the Mannings staying the entire way through seems to have been a good decision.
If the Mallet Family is not in financial difficulty, I think he stays. Otherwise, I think the opportunity to completely turn your Family's Finances from Insecurity to Security is not something most people would pass up.
