Congratulations to hoglar69 for the closest…well actually…the exact prediction last week of 42-21. His quote: “Hogs roll.” Hmm…we like that quote. In fact, I think we’ll use it each week as a way to end our predictions post. Oh wait…we’ve been plagiarized!
This is the second win of the season for hoglar69 after winning the Florida prediction contest back in mid-October. Very impressive, hoglar69. Just don’t win again or we’ll have to amend our contest rules to give everyone else a fighting chance!
Before we get to our picks, from all of us here at RBN, we want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We’re thankful for many things including, as always, that you stop by and spend a little bit of your time hanging out here with us.
So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: As good as our offense is playing, it’s easy to forget the other side of the ball. Hogs have some trouble protecting Mallett, and our penchant for giving up the big plays on defense keeps us from taking that “next step.” Hope I’m wrong. LSU 37, Arkansas 35.
HogBaller: The Hogs finish the season on a high note as they bring home the Golden Boot once again. Arkansas 38, “Spike” 24.
HogBlogger: Hogs’ winning streak in ‘all red’ continues. Arkansas 38, LSU 17.
TipsterHog: Razorback fans have many things to be thankful for this season. Not having a bumbling idiot who wears a ginormous hat as our football coach is one of them. Arkansas 28, LSU 20.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “He sure seemed a lot smarter with Saban’s players” or “Cotton-pickin’, Golden Boot stompin’ fun. Hogs roll.”

Hogs jump on the Tigers early, 14-0, only to be half scared to death in the final minute. With the Hogs leading 28-27, the Tigers recover an onside kick with 1:17 remaining, only to fail to call a timeout with 32 seconds remaining after a 1st down pass at the 38 yardline. After the chains are moved,The Tigers allow 11 seconds to needlessly expire off the game clock before calling their final TO, only to run straight up the gut for 3 more yards with no timeout remaining.
Les Miles still believes he has 1 timeout left, so with 15 seconds remaining, he calls for a TO.
Once the referee explains to him he has no more TOs left, he frantically ushers his FG unit onto the field and porposely tells one of his linemen to commit an illegal procedure penalty to stop the clock.
This runs 10 more seconds off the clock and backs the ball up to the 40 yard line, so instead of 52 yards, his kicker now has to kick one from 57 yards out with 5 seconds left in the game.
The kick is no good, wide too the right.
Hogs win!!! Hogs win!!! Hogs win!!!
Arkansas-28, LSU-27.
yes it does the tigers havnt faced a balanced attack like we have. plus they are reeling now and no matter how much tiger juice they drink it wont stop the hog train

After falling behind LSU makes a late comeback and then recovers the on-side kick, but due to poor clock management they fail to get the field goal try before time runs out.
AS much as i believe and want to believe the hogs will win….. i dont think they will be able to. The Razorback defense will give up a tigers season high in points but the hogs offense should keep up. The last team to have the ball wins. LSU 45 ARK 41
Hogs have better pass rush than last year which is good due to LSU's lack of run game. Mallett and co. struggle early but finish strong with run game performing better than expected. Still, game is very close and (relatively) low-scoring…Tejada may get the opportunity to be a hero from medium range.

I believe the Hog's offense can and will overcome the defense's weaknesses. Our whole team seems to be taking on a different attitude knowing the game is never out or reach. If Ryan is "on" it won't be close, however, he seems to still throw the short passes too hard.
At the end of the day it's…. Hogs 34 – 27
34-24 Hogs go down early but comeback to win in the second half.
LSU reacts much like we did after the lose to Florida…..We hit them hard before they can react. It's blow out and it gets the whole nation buzzing.

We are one touchdown, or more, better than last year. LSU is one touchdown, or more, worse than last year. Factor in the game is in Red Stick and we do not play as well away as home. Still:

Hey——-the rules allow duplicate scores. With your record this year, I am honored to share 38-23 with you. Do you want the front half of the shirt or the back half?

This is a blowout. The hogs can stop the fourth string rb and a hobbled Jefferson.

I concur with most assesments of this game – LSU's offense is going to struggle without thier running game. Ours will be lights out like it has for every other night game this year. The line is 3.5 to 4 and most of our games with the tigers are within 7 points, but that doesn't mean anything. Bet the over – 42 to 24. Hogs win!
tigers come out slow the hogs come out fast, but the Tigers D catchs up and slows down the Hog O after they put up a quick 21. The third quater is a nightmare for the young hogs again, but this time it really come back to bite them on a tejada missed Field goal. SOrry I hope I am wrong but these young hogs been riding high for 4 weeks, we should be thankful for a winning season, But LSU snapps the winning streak. Remember we always loose to LSU when we have a good season.

Woo Pig Sooie! Happy Holidays Hog Fans! All I want for Xmas is a Razorbloggers T-Shirt!!! Please, please, pretty please!
The only runners LSU have left are their QB's. Lafelle drops more passes per game than the hogs did against ole miss that to me equals no offense,LSU's D-Line is no where close to where it once was.The only defensive weapon LSU has is Peterson but the HOGS have way too many weapons for one man to cover. My prediction we are going to be playing in cotton HOGS-45 tigers -20
Hogs 42
LSU 38
Hogs defence has given about 24 points a game this year….nothing changes this week! We need to show the nation we CAN win on the road! Hogs squeak it out 31-24 on a late TD from Adams!
As good as the offense has been at home, it has struggled equally as bad on the road.
Plus, the Hogs haven't had to deal with Death Valley at might. I have a bad feeling.
Tigers 31
Hogs 24
Our young Hogs self esteem was way too low at alabama, maybe a bit too high at ole miss after the great game at florida. I believe they have matured and are ready for the spotlight that a big SEC road win will bring. Real Respect starts NOW!!!

Ah'm goin to do this syuntific-lahk hier since their are now enough data at the end of the season to finagle and spin. LSU has scored an average of 18.4 in their last 5 SEC games (second half of season which tells us more about where the teams are than at the beginning). LSU has given up an average of 17 points per game with those same teams with a differential of 1.4 points. Arkansas has scored an average of 31.2 with its last 5 SEC opponents and given up an average of 22.6 with a differential of 8.8. Add 8.6 to 17 = ~26. Add 1.4 to 22.6 = 24. Rounding off football wise, Hogs win by 3.
This is a classic matchup for arguements between "defense wins games" and "wide open offenses can overcome even the best defenses" Of course there is the best of both worlds but not with these two teams. If you've seen today's Demozette, you will see that all aspects of offense favor the Hogs and all defensive factors favor the Tigers. This game will depend on protecting Mallet giving his receivers time to separate or find the open spot. A variable here, especially in the red zone is crowd noise, so Petrino must have an answer for that. The Razorbacks must not penalize themselves with false starts and illegal motion (Fortunately the Hogs don't have Flozell Adams on the OL). Balancing crowd noise are the RB and QB questions for the Tigers. Realistically, aside from my calculations, I think that the firepower of the Hogs is way, way, way above average and the Tigers defense is good but not up to previous standards. Plus LSU has not face a passing attack as good as Arkansas, and Arkansas has certainly faced as good or better offenses than LSU. If all goes well, score should be Arkansas 38 (or more) and Bengals 20.
Sorry. Forgot to ask Sunshine where he came up with the Tigers scoring 37 points. The highest number of points scored by LSU on a SEC team was 31 (Auburn). The Tigers only scored 24 against Louisiana Tech (3-8). Add to that the Tigers running back woes. Arkansas defense isn't that bad or any worse than, say, MSU where they only scored 30 points. Must be that Tiger Stadium-at-night mystic.
Ok… I haven't won all year guessing early so I'm trying late this year. Hogs win 38-24!
