Game Predictions — Troy

Congratulations to longtime commenter GolfHog for the closest prediction last week of 31-17. His quote: “Hogs find their run game; they’ll need it.” They did find it…and did need it…and don’t win without it. Good call, GolfHog.
GolfHog will be receiving an RBN t-shirt soon that, unfortunately, was not made by either Adidas or Nike. (We’re still negotiating the terms of our big deal.) In the meantime, weekly winners will have their choice of Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. Comfort fit!
If anyone needs a quick refresher on how we judge the winner of our little weekly contest, you can check the rules here. So here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: Troy head coach Larry Blakeney now claims he “never, ever” predicted during the preseason that his Trojans would beat the Razorbacks. We agree. Hogs get bowl eligible, and have a little fun at the end. Arkansas 45, Troy 20.
HogBaller: Troy coach wishes he hadn’t spouted off (or not?) and provided the Razorbacks with a little bulletin board material. Bowl Eligible 42, Talk Is Cheap 17.
HogBlogger: This Hog team has a tendency to get happy with itself and let down. Not this week. Arkansas 49, Troy 24.
TipsterHog: Over the years, Troy has put a scare into several SEC teams. But Halloween was two weeks ago, and now this confident Razorbacks team is focused on becoming bowl eligible and finishing the season strong. Arkansas 49, Troy 27.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “Hogs sack Troy more than the Greeks” or “USC and Trojans defeated back-to-back. Hogs roll.”

Troy 20
No upset here.
Hogs 47

Troy scores on the obligatory couple of big plays, but the Hogs have it under control throughout.
Big Day for Knile Davis and Joe Adams continues his run of consecutive games with a TD as Hogs role 45 to 21
Kickoff return…and then….Air it out!

Troy-17
I feel like Troy’ll actually play us somewhat close in the first half, but then our SEC upbringing will take over.
Hogs become bowl eligible: 44
Troy is still in the sun belt: 23
Hogs 48, Troy 24
I wouldn’t our team any more motivation as we look like a team that wants put away the past and start our bright future. Troy talks the smack, and Petrino puts the smack down! Layers of the Smack 42-The other, other team in alabama 17.
Lot’s of school records will fall this season and a couple are due to tumble Saturday night. I hope the rain holds off until midnight and we all have a party:
Men of swine 52
Men of Troy, jr 21
I agree with JHog. Hogs allow multiple big plays, but the outcome is never really in doubt. Looking ahead, even if it’s a lower-tier bowl we get, the extra month of practice will pay huge dividends next year.

Hogs win big… 49-21! Troy blames the SEC refs for this loss!
Troy picks it up in the second half, but it’s too little, too late.
Arky – 42

Closer than we think – but only because the backups get their time in in the 2nd half.
Razorbacks – 34

no game here. mallet breaks multiple records and wilson gets some pt.

Fruit of Loom, definitely comfort fit.
This is a young team capable of playing flat that made a living last week off of USC mistakes. A good scare will make them a year older.
Arkansas 31-24
And, I might add, time to give Willy a bit of credit; Bobby gave them 7 on the fake punt. The defense held them to one long play and a field goal from inside the one yard line. I’m not sayin’ its pretty but, those are the facts.
Hogs 44
Troy State 14
Even though TipsterHog laughed at my pick, I’m sticking with it…..especially since it is so close to T-Towner’s guess!
Hogs 56
Troy 21
You cheated and used my lead-in to close the deal——-you were supposed to have Troy at 20???
Tell Tipster Hog to get you a tank-top shirt for that.
This one will be closer then you think as Troy capitallizes on turnovers to keep it close.

Go Hogs Go!
The Trojans don’t have the horses to run with the Hogs. They might be dangerous on the Plains of Ilium but not on the field at Fayetteville. Somebody should keep an eye on our Homecoming Queen (I volunteer) lest they abduct her and carry her back to Ilium. Coach Larry “Paris” Blakeney probably can’t predict the future, but I can (’cause I want me one o’ them highly-coveted FotL T-shirts [2XL, at least]): Hogs are twice as good.
