I'm not for sure how many minutes Farmer played in the AU game, but I don't even remember him playing.

Does anyone know if Farmer played in the game? If not, I wonder if there's some kind of disiplinary action going on with him? Anyone know?

I remember seeing him at the end of the bench, near the end of the game.

AU had just called a timeout after R. Clarke hit a big 3 pt. shot for us.

He was practically emotionless after the shot went in, but finally congradulated Clarke once he got up and joined the huddle in the TO. He didn't look happy to me.

Any ideas?

That is one thing about this blog that I really like, the differing opinions and observations without folks being mean spirited. I certainly hope my comments aren't interpreted that way.

And "streak" is the right word for the Hogs record this season, if you look at the schedule: win four, lose four.

In the Postgame Pelphrey stated what the next problem is likely to be: fatigue. Burnout.

As Gonzo pointed out, the team seemed to "fizzle out at the end of our SEC games last season." I think that is because the team "overachieved" in it's preconference schedule and didn't have enough left in the tank to compete in conference play. That could happen now, after winning four in a row, four come-from-behind games that could have gone either way. Maybe Pel was remembering how it went last year, having learned his lesson on overachieving: it catches up with you. Better to learn to pace yourself for the long haul and to peak at the right time, if you can, if you have that luxury.

Regardless of how the season ends, I will give credit to Pel and his team for their work ethic and their handling of adversity.

BTW: The fact that no charges will be filed in the rape investigation should be a morale boost for the team. I hope that justice has been served; I am also grateful that is not my decision to make.

Being fans though, we're going to be stoked when they win, and may get disgusted when they lose…that's part of being a fan. This site…the bloggers and commenters…are a pretty good reflection of those varying emotions.

I appreciated your commentary. But while one person's opinion may seem like a complaint or nitpick to you, it may be a valid criticism to someone else. The healthy debate/discussion is what we love.

I beg to differ in doing all the stuff a 1st place team does. The last time I checked, the first place team wins games. That's what we've been doing. Would you rather have a supremely executed game that we lose, or an ugly game that we win?

I do think we have a lot of room for improvement, and I think we will continue to do that, just as we have done all year. Just don't expect them to turn it around in one game. Like I've posted before, my satisfaction comes through incremental progress from game to game. And the team has done that.

Opinionated, not trying to pick a fight, just stating my opinion. It's nice to see that Pelphrey can win at least 5 SEC games and be in first place with his own players – despite the fact that he lost a number of players over the past year. Hard to argue he doesn't have the program going in the right direction.

That first half was some ugly hully gully crap basketball. We must be a defensive team. We have no offense.

Pel had better win big. Otherwise all that whining and complaining will get old. I know he had a tough year. But, we paid him a mill. I don't know who else is responsible for his troubles. It's not the fans or the media.

Four in a row against the worst line up in the SEC west in 20 years is hardly a great accomplishment but it beats losing. Let's see if we can finish.

I also think that CJP has done something to start this turnaround. More inside-out play has helped. So has the increased defensive efforts. I'm really glad Auburn didn't shoot a better % from 3 yesterday. We would've been doomed.

Are they fixable? Of course. Should they be fixed? Of course. The way you speak about things, it sounds like you don't think they should. It sounds like we should just be content and not talk about things. Or, if we do, only praise the team.

The reality of the situation, the West isn't that strong of a conference and we're just playing better than the rest of them right now. Bully for us. Keep on keepin' on, Hogs.

It wasn't long ago (5 or 6 games, maybe) CJP said after a loss that we needed to continue to develope the bench for strong play down the stretch run of the SEC schedual. Sounds like a smart man.

Does anyone remember how we always seemed to fizzle out at the end of our SEC games last season?

The improvement of our best players, combined with the Freshman depth we added this year are starting to take over. We can all thank CJP for that. He recruited them, coached them up and here we are, 1st in the SEC West.

Although I will say I'm disappointed in how our Sr. leadership turned out this season. We needed those guys to be consistant, but oh well.

I'm just proud that overall, we're still a much improved team this season.

The future still looks very bright to me.

Swineherd, I would imagine it takes a lot of time to eat the amount of crow that is due from most on this site – including the Adminstrators of this great blog. What is funny to me that despite the wins, folks are still stretching to find something to complain about, what the Hogs aren't doing right, Fortson's shot selection, etc. I'd really like to see folks spending more time getting behing the 4 game SEC winning streak and supporting the kids. This is what everyone has been asking for – well, now you have it so enjoy it rather than continuing to nit pick the team.

I don't have the time to research the stats, but I would be interested to know when the last time the Hogs won 4 in a row in the SEC – and when the last time the Hogs were in 1st place outright.

I also haven't seen many write about what a great job Pel is doing now. You know, folks held him accountable and most had crucified him and called for his head when they were losing…well, he should be given all the credit for the most SEC wins in a long time and taking the team to 1st in the West with a very young team and a light bench.

Clarke will continue to draw the opposing team's best defender and most of the time, they're not leaving his side for a second. We'll have to find better ways to get him open looks or others will have to step up.

Rebounding continues to plague us — and could've won us the game before OT. Free-throw shooting slipped some this time, but assists were better.

BallHawg Fortson does it again: leading scorer and rebounder and assist-ant. REBOUNDER! How many point guards get as many rebounds as Courtney? So he takes a few low-percentage shots, OK a lot of low-percentage shots. . .. He delivers victory. Observe: In the first half when he plays conventional ball, Hogs always fall behind, and stay behind, till late in the game when the only possible way to win is Fortneyball. The defense gets tired and Fortney blows by 'em.

Hope Washington's ankle/leg is OK, nothing serious. At least he stayed on the bench after getting injured, rather than going to the locker room. Maybe that's a sign. I don't see how we win without him.

If they really do anything to make a run at the end, the Seniors are going to have to play a bigger role.
