Mallett Breaks Bone In Foot

University of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett sustained a broken bone in his left foot during conditioning drills Wednesday morning. Mallett is expected to miss spring practice and fully recover in three to four months.

    Rats… this is a bad break for the Hogs! Actually, it may turn out best as our lower string QBs will get lots of practice time.

    I agree. It sucks that Mallett wont be able to practice, but it's good from an Arkansas point of view because it gives Wilson and Mitchell a chance to battle it out for the number two position.

    Does anyone else thinks there is more to this story? How do you break a foot during conditioning drills?

    The spring work is key to Mallets growth into the next level QB. I also think it slows down progress in his shoulder since it's hard to work it with a broken foot you can't plant.

    Hopefully he progresses faster than normal and gets a lot of work this summer.
