This is one ticket price that should go down.

What has not been said about our poor basketball program? In the peace and quiet and outrageous excitement of football season it is easy to look quietly at the mess and give Jeff Long credit for hanging tough in a tough situation, and give Dudley the benefit of the doubt. (You can only ask yourself, what would Mike Anderson have done with 6 scholarships in one year? But, that is all spilt milk now. No use in crying.)

This is supposed to be our best team since Stan, depending on how many make it to November, of course. We should accept nothing less than a trip to the NIT.

Sorry… I don't care about wasting my time thinking about Mike… he's not here… and not coming here.

Maybe we can hope that some of the football excitement and success of the football team this year inspires the basketball team to excel!

  3. The SEC West this year will be the worst it has ever been….EVER. It would not be a surprise to see all six SEC West teams under .500 in conference play.

  4. GonzoHog says:

I'm just looking for a little defense on the perimeter and some good ball movement and decision making on the offensive end.

If we do those things consistantly, everything else will take care of itself.

    • opionatedblowhard says:

Who is going to coach those things?

      • GonzoHog says:

Coaching only goes as far as the personel. what starters last season did we recruit or already have besides Rotnie Clarke and Marshawn Powell, capable of accepting this kind of coaching? Washington?…Welsh?…Fortson?…Henry?

Every single one of those guys were rated as a 4 star player. Their lack of developement didn't come from lack of coaching. It's called stupidity.

Oh, and by the way, I forgot to even mention the 3 star, Juco player we had that decided he couldn't handle the disipline and left before he barely got started in Pel's '08 class.

The personel was a joke, and don't even get me started with the "well, who recruited them?" theory. CJP was limited with his choices for the most part at that time.

The program was already at an all time low with undisiplined and uneducated players already on the roster.

In other words, there was no leadership, as was evident by our SRs last season.

There's absolutely no logic is assessing the coaching capabilities of CJP at this jucture of his career.

Right now, he's just trying to keep the APR high enough to keep the program from slipping farther with scholorship losses.

If CJP doesn't show improvement with his team or show that this team isn't capable of establishing an identity for the future this coming season, then I'll get on your bandwagon. Until then, I don't think so.
